Where to put the AWD tow warning sticker?

Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you have purchased the AWD tow warning sticker and have place it on your car...where did you put it? Thanks.

Are you serious?, you are asking the forum where to put it?, put it anywhere you feel like it. Just make sure whenever you tow your car that the twoing company send the flat bed.

I would like to think that unless the tow operator is a total tosser, they would realize the AWD action in the EVO and get a flatbed. Why do you ask? If you need a tow, surely you would specify the flatbed. Unless you're worried about being towed from, well, an 'unauthorized' location??

Put it near your VIN... Tow companies are suppose to log the VIN when they tow a car ....for impound and insurance purposes

I agree with both of the above posts....I guess i'm just trying to understand why it would be an issue at all.....I wouldn't park my baby anyplace it would be towed without my knowledge, and I would personally make sure they do it right if it did have to be towed.

I guess this is mostly for people who street park in metro areas

I live in the SF bay area. You can and will get towed for being 5 minutes late on the meter. Id rather spend 5 bucks on a sticker if it prevents 1 tow driver from incorrectly towing an AWD car. Had one on my STi,will get one on the evo

Yeah well you arent always with your car unless you live in it.. **** happens. There are too many variables where your car can be towed. Just stick it by the Vin and call it a day.

Wow, you guys in Cali have it tough.....towing after 5 minutes, and all these "fix-it" tickets they issue. If that happened here, I think there would be a revolt!!!!! I would put the sticker on my car if I lived there.

Yup. There was this one metered street in front of my building while I was in school, no parking after 4pm. Every single day 3-4 tow trucks would line up down the block and wait for it to click past 4, and tow the few cars that didnt know any better

thx for the comments...i was just moving up to FSU in Tallahassee and I didnt wan't anyone towing my car by any means without a flatbed. Im not planning on parking in any un-authorized areas. However, you can never be too careful.

Thanks again.

Hey, life isn't as sweet as it is in CT. I've had my car towed a few times in MA. The first thing I do is do a hard launch in the parking lot when I leave. I always ask the tow guys if they flat-bedded the car too. Of course they all say "yes". The majority of the tow trucks here are all flatbeds though.

My apartment complex has a tow truck the drives around 24/7 looking for cars to pluck in "tow away zones". My sister's car was double parked in front of my driveway for 10 minutes and she went outside and it was gone. Also, I've parked in handicapped parking spots without realizing it before, either because it was not well marked or not well lit and I didn't realize. So, it can and does happen, regardless of how careful you are. Better safe than sorry.

I fully realize that it 'can and does happen', but in 15 years of driving and parking, it has never happened to me. I wasn't trying to slam anybody, just trying to get a better understanding since this is the first time that i'm hearing about this sticker. Sounds like it is a good idea for people in a larger metro area. Our city has only 150,000 people, so i guess it's kinda small in the big scheme of things.
