wheel bearing issue...anyone else?
So i figured out what the noise i was hearing from the rear of the car at higher speeds. The drivers rear wheel bearing has some play in it and is making a lot of noise... I can actually feel some play so its definatly bad. I do this type of work for a living so it wont be a issue do get the job done. I just figured out that only mitsubishi offers a new bearing. I would like to know if anyone else has had any of their wheel bearings go bad?

well i have owned the car for about 40 days and i have never hit anything. All the wheels look good and carfax shows no wrecks. The hub seems to be good and the tires wear good so i would have to say the hub is good. as for its not bet as along with the rest of the suspension. Yea i figured as much when i was unable to get just the bearing from my supplier. I got a price from mitsu and it was $110.00 we will se if its the correct hub/bearing assembly and if the problem goes away.
Easy to tell if it's the bearing.
When it is making the noise steer right and steer left.
One way makes it louder the other it will all but go away.
It's been so long but it should be whatever direction of steer is the opposite bearing.
So turning left would make it louder so it's the right bearing and vice versa.

i know what one it is. I can feel the play in the wheel when the cars on the lift. and its the rear wheel so it wouldnt be when turning. Its kinda hard to hear with a aftermarket exhaust. But really noticeable at higher speeds.

Thanks for the input tho.
actually, i think it was sport compact car or another mag that had an 03 evo for a 50,000 mile long term test and the only things that broke were the intercooler sprayer and a wheel bearing.
