The salvage title doesnt mean crap if someone really wants the car, If this is going to be one of the cars that you keep forever then its fine, if you plan to resell it and make a profit might be harder to pass off.

I may mis-read some of the threads that are long, some people even say I have ADHD, but I don't think it's......................OOOOHHH Look at the turtle!!

I bought a car with a salvage title before (F350 lariat 4X4) for a trucking company I was starting. It was a GREAT deal, and I said "I can save lots of money getting it with a salvage title" I would never sell it anyway..........but then I DID have to sell it, and got SQUAT for it. Lets say this guy has to sell him MR sometime down the road, he wouldn't get SQUAT for it. If you keep it, there is no problems with the car, you did fine then!! Carry on! There are some states where the banks WONT finance a car, or insurance companies wont insure SALVAGED cars. My state they will. Good luck.

capital one always finances salvage cars
my brother bought an 04 wrx in april of 04. he bought it for $7500 from a dealer crashed, and ended with $15500 in the car. had it for a year and spent around $7.5k in upgrades mods, like turbo, injectors andtrans.
wanted to sell the wrx to get an sti. within 2 weeks of the listing on autotrader, he sold it for his asking price of $20k. it had a rebuilt title.
then he got an 04 STI, clear title, never wrecked for $21.5k. has 13k miles on it.

was he lucky in both deals? HELL YA, lol!

See?? things are problably NOT that bad!!! I think you did well, if you get the parts off here, but do a LASER alignment of the underside, to make sure nothing is out of skew!!

i bought my evo crashed back in july of 05. the entire right side rail (from firewall to rad support) with the rad support was replaced and welded on. they drilled out the spot welds and welded back on the same welds.
got the new subframe, and it slide on effortlessly. went to get an alignment, caster read exactly 3.5 degrees on both sides.
i ended up spending a total of $18k on the car. it was a little more than i wanted to spend, but now i am SUPER happy with the car now.

the big question is, why did you buy a crashed evo, did you think you'll save money that way? think again, your parts and labor to fix will end up being close to the price of a new evo, and you'll never have a clean title.

And just who is driving this EVO that is going to be beat by an SRT4 with a boost controller. Remember this is an EVO site and everyone has an opinion about everything. If you don't want to hear bad crap then don't post (especially with a turbo lancer ES that everything on the planet can beat)

You will pay close to 30K getting it on the road, and my cataracts might be acting up again, but It looks like you said an SRT4 with boost controller could beat an evo???!!!! Maybe yours, since it might look like its going down the street like a crooked bananna!

RELAX, we are on your side here!!

the bigger question is, have YOU had any direct experience in buying crashed cars to know if they are worth it or not???

your statment is, 90% of the time, untrue.
