On the JDM's it's easy to do it because the ACD can be set to Tarmac where more power is sent to the rear wheels instead of the front.

Most RWD cars will TTO (trailing throttle oversteer) including ALL BMW's even 745Li's BUT they respond much better to a "trail brake" that is a well timed release of the brake AFTER turn in.
The EVO is the only AWD car I have ever driven that responds like a good RWD car as far as the effectivness of the trail brake and the ability (bone stock) to POWERSLIDE It will and does do it IF you release the brake correctly coming into the corner. GTR is right it does make it easier to "flick it" into the corner but that is only necessery for lower speed turns (<3rd gear).

This is not to be done on public roads and it does take a lot of practice

Power on oversteer is a bit more difficult in this car, it tends more towards a slight understeer although turn-in is @#$%^ amazing. I'm not a big drifter, but picking a smooth line is very easy with the EVO. When you start to understeer--full lift--back comes out--full throttle again and "look mommy, no hands" drifting!!! It scares me how predictable this car is at the limit

don't see why you can't get the back out. trail brake, aim at the apex(late), power on as early as you dare, get ready to counter

Every recent stock BMW I've driven has so much less front grip than rear that without using the brake or applying throttle, I find them impossible to oversteer just by weight transfer. You've done some track events in a 745Li?
A guy posted on here recently about how he couldn't get the EVO to oversteer at Lime Rock.
Lime Rock has some scary turns, I wouldn't want to experiment on that track.

It's not just making it oversteer...it's making it SUSTAIN oversteer (powerslide), and yes it can be done . The car is designed (like all cars) to have mild understeer at the limit but it does have enough front end grip to initiate the slide on the brakes and enough power combined with the rear limited slip diff to sustain the slide
