For a little Vishnu balance......

Here is a link to a reply by Shiv concerning the EVO chassis stiffness and handling. Shiv is also an EVO owner.

I guess some people can't handle a review when it doesn't go towards thier favor Perhaps they should just scratch one for the evo and wait for other reviews to see the strong points for each car. For me handling is more important and .97G is impressive for street compound. For others maybe power? Whichever we'll see if all the magazine testing are consistant.

The whole thread is a good read. Among other things, Shiv has an excellent ability to put into words what EVO owners have felt since the first 5 miles in their EVO's. Both cars are great and it will be fun when the STI gets here.

Man these bashing people need lives...lol. Very nice summation Shiv. I just dont understand why Subaru VS. Mitsu is turning into the redneck Ford VS. Chevy. Give me a break, 5 years ago the closest thing we had to a rally car was the 2.5 RS. Now we have the two heavy hitters, and people ***** about one or the other. I personally love both, and would take either of them. Oh well.

Didn't you know that the EVO vs STi is Camero Vs. Mustang of Japan Just has a different purpose rather than drag racing

dont you just love how shiv´s word is law to them until he decided his preference... they're turning on him faster than we did during the HP debate..

Honestly, the threads in the STi forum at NASIOC have really tapered off in quality since the January announcement. Folks that are excited just don't see much need to post in the forum and rehash things that have been discussed ten times in the last 4 months.

Most of the Evo vs Sti vs G35 vs you-name-it comparisons have been started by new members and perpetuated by lots of meaningless drivel and speculation. Once people start getting the cars (aside from Hawaii, which already has them!) posts will get more interesting.

As far as comments from Shiv go, well, he is a respected engine tuner by a good percentage of the NASIOC folks, but I don't recall seeing too many (i.e. any) posts asking for his suspension setup suggestions over the past few years.

Most of the folks here have done a complete 180 on Shiv, first you hate him cause of his dyno, now you love him because he likes the Evo chassis. It has been quite entertaining to read.

I agree with Longfury on this one. When it comes to vendors, even well spoken ones, they all have agendas.

Yeah, that whole thread is a good read. You can almost smell the crap in their collective NASIOC pants as Shiv, revered as a god by many Subie pagans, lays down the real deal.

Ok but seriously, in the absence of any concrete test figures/reports/ etc. it's great to get the subjective opinions of people who have driving both USDM cars.

All the subie forums are a group of caniballistic animals waiting to kill. Shiv has contributed so much to the subie world its not even funny yet they turn on him like he's a traitor.

Time to grow up.

By that understanding, then the evolutionm.net forums are too. You must have seen what happened in the dyno threads to Shiv here - much worse than what happened in that nasioc.com thread.

The main thing to remember is that it's not nasioc.com or evolutionm.net that is doing something to an individual such as shiv, it's members of those forums that do it. And a few individuals of any forum does not define the forum itself as a whole - well, unless they are the owners and moderators of it.

Cheers,

Paul Hansen
