Is it possible...

...for the evo to feel quicker after the first oil change Well this weekend, the evo got its first oil change at 5k miles. Every since that oil change, the car feels quicker for some reason. It seems that engine just revs so much easier then it did before. Is it possible, or am I just krazy?

Maybe your not too krazyyyyy, then again you waited 5k to change your oil....Next time use that super duper mobil 1 endurance formula and run 15k, let us know how it turns out.

ok guys, there are PLENTY of posts about when to change your first oil. some feel to wait 5k miles other don't. I did not make this post to argue this again. I stuck with the crowd, and mitsu, that felt you should do ur first oil change at 5k.
Back on topic...

Proper procedure (I dont give two F*cks what mitsu says) is do your first oil change at 1k, and INSPECT THE OIL FILTER.

Also, DO NOT use those long extended life oils for more than 5k miles in any way, shape, or form.

Why?

BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE FILTER!

Shouldn't make a difference, macie, but who knows.

We have synthetic oil. It only needs to be changed every 5k. No need to change at 1k or to change it every 3k or whatever. Those who do just waste their money on synthetic oil, because it doesn't start working properly until 2k mile or so anyway. I personally change my oil more often only because I race it frequently, but for those who don't, it's not necessary.

The inspection of the oil filter at 1k with cheap oil is just a procedure to make sure everything is breaking in well and not causing any problems. After that move to full synthetics. I tend to drive my cars hard so I change at every 3k.

Sorry to get off topic.
