I like that Pssshhhh sound. But I don't want the idle problems, But if it recirculating , there should be no problems with the idle, but will i still get the loud psssshhh. If so what is a good bov for the evo?

You should use a Cone type air filter if you want the pshh sound with a recirculating valve. You can even hear the stock BOV when using a cone filter...

 

or get the aps valve and you will get it as well

 

If you recirc your BOV the sound will not be very loud. The best BOV is the HKS sequiential BOV. You most likey have to recirc but I have heard the 05-06 you dont have to and would not experience idle problems.

i had a type s for a bit with no idling problems in my ix... but just get the aps and you will be happy. i had the hks in my 03, it was loud as hell, but recirc'd it sounded like stock so no point., just get any of the 3 or 4 vta/recirc valves if you want the sound, and they dont affect your car

OMG, HKS SSQV is BY FAR THE WORST BOV ON THE MARKET. I dunno WTF you're smoking dude. Forge RS is by far the premier BOV for the Evo market.

Yes, i had the Forge RS recirc'ed with the stock intake and it was more audible then stock, but still very quiet. Now i have cone filter, it's louder, but a VERY different noise then VTA makes.

 

Does anyone have a sound clip of the aps valve? I heard alot of people say it sounds like a sneeze, and not very noticeble. I thought about picking one up and throwing it on for a while, I too like the BOV sound.
