Exclamation CTSV's 0-60 in 4.6 --- should I be concerned?

Are you guys familiar with this thing? In stock form, it's as fast as an Evo, but with large displacement throttle response --- and my older brother is about to buy one! Looks like it's time to kiss my warranty goodbye, and massage the beast . . .

The Evo must rule. Any pointers?

uhh in stock form you will crush him. I ran one at the 1/4 mile multiple times and all he could muster was a 13.9, and his was an automatic so there was no excuse.

If it was an auto, then it wasn't a CTS-V. They only come with a 6-spd manual.

Ctsv is a ls2 6.0. Makes 400hp, only comes in 6speed manual, and stock should run a mid 13. I think the ctsv would be a highway monster like a vette, but evo will own a ctsv in the 60 foot, and 1/4 without to much problem.

they have alot more top end then our cars.....but i know we can take them down low.......atleast if you in the 350 whp range....... seems like everytime i run into a fast luxury car none of them want to play, so i really dont know from first hand experience.....

oh and btw ctsv 0-60 is supposibly 5.2 seconds. Not sure where you saw 4.6, but all the sources i look at say 5.2. Quarter should be 13.66 at 103.

Here is a list of stock V's trapping between 104-109mph stock. Just remember Ls2's are mean and there are quite a few V's trapping over 118mph with a heads/cam pakcage 3K, exhuast, filter, and tune.

Look around on Ls1tech.com a few are 11 second 125mph trapping pump gas monsters still on the stock block.

Without a doubt any ls1/ls6/ls2/ or ls7 car can be insane. Well ls7's are insane to begin with. But even with the ls1 5.7 bolt ons, and patriot head and cam you can make 450+ whp. head's and cam would be sick on a ctsv to most of us. Who would not love to be driving a cady with a ls2 with a huge cam, and rough idle? majority of us would do it, but thats not the majority of cady owners. He was asking about his brother stock car. I totally agree though that ls2 with bolt ons will be very fast, bout also with all that torque and rwd you will need some serious tires to cut down that 60 ft. As long as your not trying to race your brother from 80-140+ on the highway you will be ok.
