tcase, rear diff has to be diaqueen only??
i have searched and read many many threads about this and im so confused!!
many ppl here have said to use diaqueen ONLY for the tcase and rear diff but also there are some ppl who uses 75w-90 and they even did write ups on how to do it.
my car has about 32,000 so i think i need to change them real soon so will it be ok if i go buy something like mobil 1 synthetic 75-90 or only diaqueen??
pls only answer me if you are for sure if its ok or not.

for the tcase redline shockproof is very good, it's gooey it coats everything nicely.
for the rear diff you need something that has the right friction modifier. roadraceengineering uses redling 75 90

ok...I just had a t-case replaced under warrenty, I have an 03. Now, I am super confused with what goes into the t-case for the 03!!
My mitsu tech told me to NOT to use Diaqueen in the t-case. He said Diaqueen in rear diff is okay.
He told me he used the shop's GX 80W-90 Gear Oil. I took a picture of the drum's label on my cell...and it also shows that it's made by Exxon.
He stressed that this gear oil has special Friction Modifiers that Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil does not have.
Can someone please confirm or disprove this?
The reason his message was reasonable to me was this: in the shop manual which he showed me, it never specified Diaqueen LSD for the t-case but did specify the Diaqueen for the real diff.

For the rear differential the maker recommends GL-5 or higher SAE90, SAE85W-90 or SAE80W-90. For the transfer case the maker recommends GL-5 SAE90 only. So the transfer case has more stringent lubrication requirements than the rear differential does. I say this because making a multi-weight lubricant requires the inclusion of viscosity modifers and viscosity modifers are not oil and reduce lubricant properties.
So you can probably find on the shelf of your local auto supply store something that will work for the rear differential. However, finding GL-5 SAE90 gear oil is difficult. I think that there is only one other manufacturer besides Diagueen (you are welcome to prove me wrong here). Anyway, once you aquire Diaqueen for the transfer case you also have the correct lubricant for the rear differential. So, why not use it?

ONLY USE DIAQUEEN IN THE XFER CASE!!!!!!!
You should also use Diaqueen in the rear dif.
I use Penzoil Synchromesh in the tranny and change it after every lapping day.
If you don't believe everyone telling you to ONLY USE DIAQUEEN in the xfer case call T.R.E. or Shep and ask them. They will specifically tell you NOT to use shockproof in an EVO xfer case.
