If I were you, I would not get the HKS unless it's used and you're getting it for a real good price. I bought my HKS Hi-power off of someone with an evo 8 who had absolutely no issues with it. On my car though...the resonator in the midpipe banged against the driveshaft (and scratched up the knuckle), and also rattled against the heatshield on the gas tank. The only way to fix this is have the resonator cut off and to have a straight pipe welded on. I tried messing with the exhaust hangers and getting kartboy hangers and what not. Also...the hks exhaust tapers to 2.5" at the cat..so you might wana have a 3" flange welded on while you're at it

What part of the TBE caused the rattling? I finally installed the Hi-Power with a HKS dp and RRE high flow cat and I would hear a rattling noise when I'm at a stop and the idle rpm drops. I couldn't tell if the noise was from the dp or the cat-back.

there is a heat shield that curves down towards the back end of the driveshaft. You cant miss it if you looking underneath your car from the passenger side. That is the heatshield that cause all my ratting problems on my Carbon-Ti. All I had to do was bend it up some and it was gone. Hope this helps.

Its the long resonator in the midpipe. Towards the front/driver's side of it..it scrapes the driveshaft, and on the rear passenger side of it, it hits the gas tank heatshield.

Are you still using the stock cat and downpipe? I'm surprised that the rattling occured because I installed the full TBE using a lift and after we put everything together we shook the pipe with the resonator around and it looked like it wasn't going to hit anything.

It fells secure, but under hard corners, the mid pipe will shift and rub on the drive shaft. This is a real poor design.

This exhaust is also made in China now.

I had the same problem with the Hi-power 30th anny. I even called hks and they said it was a common problem with the resonator hitting the driveshaft. That kinda sucks considering hks is not a small company. I just bought the kartboy hangers and no more hitting.

You shouldn't have to buy hangers to make this exhaust work. You paid how much 500-700 for a top grade Japanese exhaust that's made in China. You kinda expect this thing to work right out of the box.

HKS is starting to go down hill with thier products. Greddy has been in the Sh*t hole for a few years already.
