Benefits of runing 110 race fuel

I'm up in TN. and found 110 unleaded race fuel for $3.99 a gallon! That's such a good price that I'm bringing back 25 gallons(sells for 7-7.50 a gal in FL)on my trailer. I'll be runing the Dragon(129) tomorrow.
Is there any benefit to mixing a 3 to 1 ratio of 110 to 93 octane, VS running straight 110. I recently checked all my hoses and am holding 21.5 up to 7200-7300 then it tapers to 19-20 psi bt 7800.
I'm planning on turning my boost to 25 psi while running the 110 as I figure that is a very safe boost w/ head studs & cams.

Dang, that's almost as much as I'm paying for 91 octane. The West sucks.

That's one hell of a deal. To bad you couldn't load up a fuel tanker full of it.

WTF. 110 unleaded for 3.99!? 91 around my area (cheapest) is 3.29 last time i checked! ship me some gas! haha

mixing 110 and 93..the octane rating will be lower than 110. timing will be better than running 93 straight, you can run more boost, and less knocking...but then again...93 is recommended for evos. stupid california.

I just run race gas no mix, but I thing that you will need to have it tuned to get the most out of race gas.

Benefits: ability to run higher boost and/or higher timing figures while avoiding detonation/knock.

Running race fuel on the same boost you'd be running on 91/93 octane will only benefit if you're CURRENTLY experiencing engine knock where the ECU is pulling timing, so you'd get full timing with 110octane. If you're already getting full timing figures and you dont up the boost and just toss race fuel, there is zero benefits.

ps. you can get leaded AND unleaded 110octane . I believe 110octane unleaded is the highest unleaded fuel you can buy to run in a "normal" factory fuel system.

pps. remember there are things other than a/f figures that pull timing ie. coolant temps/IAT temps/etc..

i have never heard of 110 unleaded, but I have heard of 110 low lead. I buy 105 low lead here at the small airport where I live for 3.85 a gallon.

Yeah, if I could manage a 50 gal drum I'd haul that back too! I pay $3.29 a gal for 93 in FL. so when I saw the 110 for $3.99 I filled up. only .71 more for 110!
My car seems to pull harder running the 110, but it's been so hot up here, 95' as opposed to 88 in FL.

The shop who did my cams & head studs said I should be safe turning it up to 26-27 psi. but I'd rather er on the safe side, as I'm @ 25 psi currently.

BTW, ALL statements posted by Sgt Blamo are for entertainment purposes only and are not lawfull for quotation as facts by Mitsubishi, and/or it's representatives.

I believe VP Motorsport 109 is the highest unleaded octane you can buy. There is also Torco 108 unleaded.

One station is a Sunoco the other is a Pilot, both have said that it is unleaded. I hope they're correct. There is a big off road dirt oval around here that all the racers buy fuel for. The only time I've seen 110 leaded fuel, it had huge letters stating: "WARNING, this fuel contains lead". To the best of my knowledge, it is unlawfull to dispence leaded fuel w/out a warning label clearly posted. I took pics of the pump and am keeping my receipts just to be safe, as I've heard of leaded gas cuasing problems w/ o2 sensors.

Man that must suck. If your ever in Ohio, look for Sunoco gas stations, they carry 94 oct for the same price everyone else is selling 93 for I stumbled across this by accident, since I have always been a fan of Shell gas, although I don't really now why. Who knew there was a Sunoco 1/4 further up the road with 94 versus 93. It's only +1 octane, but at least I can brag about it. LOL
