I've had mine for over a month, but just finally saw another Evo on the street the other day on the opposite side of the freeway. I saw it from a distance and all I could tell was that it was some car I'd never seen before and that it stuck out like a sore thumb. Then it got closer and I felt like an idiot for not recognizing it sooner seeing as how I was DRIVING one. Yeah...stupid story. Next...

 

I don't know what the big deal is I see 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7',s and 8's everyday. Oh yeah maybe because I live in Japan! My fault!

 

I live in Ellenwood and work near that BMW dealership near New Northside Dr.


Saw a Silver Evo racing an Impalla SS with the LT1. He was spankin it pretty good too lol.

 

First time my wife and I went out for a drive in the EVO, some girl was snapping a PHOTO of us as she pass through an intersection we were stopped at. She was a passenger in some truck of all things crossing the intersection. There's *nothing* else around there to take a picture of 'cept this little shiny black EVO. This girl's neck was cocked full around by the she got across the intersection. Very strange.

Also worth noting that we're all pretty much immune to the big wing on the back because we knew a long time ago it was coming that way. We know it serves a purpose and we knew what it was going to look like. BUT, to the average Joe that knows nothing about this car, that thing sticks out like a sore thumb and I bet that alone generates most of the looks I get. I had a guy in the McDonald's drive through take three looks out the window to make sure he was seeing right, then he said "damn, that's a big wing". He couldn't believe it came from the factory that way.

A girl at work (that knows nothing about cars) said I'm an official white boy now after looking at my car. I asked what does that mean, she said it was because of the big wing gives me the rich white boy look.
I thought it was because I am white.

 

It's a never ending situation with my EVO... I am ALWAYS getting people to follow me or when I go to the store, I come out and the car is surrounded by people just staring at it.. Believe it or not, I had this really old guy, (probably in his 60's) ask me all about it because he was gonna go buy one... I warned him about the hard suspension and said that it'll break his hip!! We both laughed..

I've had afew occurances in the week that i've had it. First one was at lunch at work. A passenger in some old Bronco glanced over and did a double take, right as the light turned green he smacked his friend to take a look. They almost hit the car infront of them they were staring so hard The next time was the other night. A slightly older guy in a nice Benz was crusing down the highway, I was in a hurry and sped by him ( i'm guessing that upet him ) because next thing I know he flew by me. So i dropped a gear and caught, ate him then spit him out. ( one of my first times to really get on it so I was impressed). When we slowed down after we got off the freeway he had caught up. I looked over and he had a big grin and was giving me a thumbs up. Pretty cool guy.

 

yea i've been getting thumbs up, there was even a guy who hand-signaled me to put the car in 4th gear and take off.... also get revved on a lot, but i think the thing that made me smiled the most was probably when i parked near a light post at a target parking lot far far away from other cars, i see this guy going to his van, grabbed his camera and took couple pics
Also noticed a lot of girls in guys' cars lookin' over my way, just gotta be careful though, since the EVo is still unique, the haters might do some stuff,,, so don't **** anyone off yet, like burning everyone, just cruise for awhile for now.... I know i know, i'm tryin hard to persuade myself to do that
