This has been covered before. Mitsubishi can not void your entire warranty. They can only deny a claim that is directly caused by an aftermarket part you install.

I would keep it in and just take it out when you get your car serviced. It has a harness doesnt it?

I'm not sure I understand. They said they would not cover a TT that they did not install? Or you were told your entire warranty is history because you put a TT in? Or they put a TT in then said they wont cover it?

If I have the dealer install the TT it would void my warranty. If anything happens they will trace it back to this I'm sure well at least I would think so.

Technically, you can modify your car and still have a full warranty, if you have a problem with your car, and your aftermarket part caused the malfunction, then they would void your warranty.

For instance, you cut into the electrical system, and something goes wrong with your electrical system because of the way it was installed or because the Turbo Timer itself caused the malfunction, then yes, they have grounds to void your electrical warranty, but if it were like a waterpump or something strictly mechanical then your warranty would be honored.

Why are you even wasting yourself with a Turbo Timer anyways? You dont need it, just keep your car under 3,000RPM 1 mile away from your house before you'll pull into your driveway.

I have a 16G in a 4G63 motor with 150,000 HARD miles ON THE TURBO. Many times the car was not cooled off properly, like when I was late to work. The turbo is still fine. Just keep the oil changed. If the turbo does go bad you can always use it as an excuse to get a bigger turbo!

Statements like that could lead to lawsuits.. I can see a fuel computer, or a boost controller, because it can ultimately have detrimental effect on several things, cooling system, turbo, drivetrain, CV Joints even possible electrical problems because some of these devices are spliced into the factory harness..

I think it really depends on the Dealer's service department you use, and how severe the failure is.. as soon as a warranty underwriter becomes involved in a claim, they'll nitpick everything.. But if its being serviced and the dealer chooses to ignore the aftermarket parts.. It will obviously get fixed under warranty.

Yeah, installing a turbo timer is like installing a new head unit. What's next, aftermarket audio systems void warranty because you put an amp in your trunk and ran a wire to the battery??

Did you see the copy of the fax? I tend not to belive anything a dealer says until it's backed up by paperwork that is official with a callback number.
