We use it at the dealership I work at and it seems to work good. You just set the controls to run the fan using outside air and spray it in the cowling area where it sucks in air. If you get a can, it lasts a while so you can use it and if the smell comes back, use it again.

You can do two things....

1. before you turn off your car run the fan only with no A/C for like a minute or two then you can leave.....Its great if you have a turbo timer becasue you can leave it and forget it.

2. find the inlet hole to your ac system....Its usually right below the windshiled on the outside in the middle. Spray some lysol there and run your Heat on High for like 5 mins and then the smell goes away it also freshens the system by killing the mildew and making the car smell fresh.

If you keep your AC on RECIRCULATE all the time, then you will get a smell from the vents. You can get rid of the smell by switching the AC to INCOMING AIR. I used to have a Honda Prelude and the owners manual said to do this a few minutes before shutting off the car. Because of this smell, I always use INCOMING AIR on my truck. Hope this helps!

Oh yea, Frigi-Fresh works wonders too!

you get that smell alot when you use A/C. what i do to get rid of it, and not have it come back is at the end of the day when i park my car into the garage i turn up the fan full blast for around 1 minute (no ac, and use outside air) so then all the bad smell can get out of the vents in the end of the day. If you don't get the bad smell out in the end of the day it will stay there overnite and get worse. Like a Rotting egg ^^

the mitsu dealer near me does basicly an A/C check and tune like for your house for like $60.

Check and top of freon, clean the ducts, clean the evap coil, and change the cain filter. Pretty sweet deal imho

good luck.
now that sounds like a good tip. i've heard of pinesol in the vents, but that did nothing in my 15 y/o accord.

all a/c systems have this problem - it's not a mitsu thing. stop the mitsu bashing already. if it were really that bad, you wouldn't be driving what you drive.

I've just started noticing this problem as well since I have been running my AC more due to the hot weather. I thought it might be the in-cabin air filter. It smells like mold/mildew. I guess I'll go buy some air freshener of some sort and clean out my filter.
