I've already seen two evo 8's with 7 tails on a red and a black evo. I dont think it looks good at all. The red was really ugly and the back looked like the car was an older model or something. I've seen too many images with the clear tails and seeing the 7 ones looks kinda ugly. Plus, at night, the clears look really good. The 7 tails makes the evo look older and very understated (which a lot of you older guys want). But that's just my opinion.

I'll use the money to buy a nice engine mod.

GOOD! Thanks for verifying. That is exactly what I'm looking for. The regular, common, boring, non-flashy look.

Before I noticed I wanted the EVO7 tails, but now I want to keep stock.
You don't lose it. The reflector in the Evo VII tails is the exact same thing as the one in the VIII tail. It's just that one has a red lense covering it and the other has a clear lense.

I remembered you guys offered the JDM Evolution VII badge. Do you guys offer the new Evo7 style Evolution VIII badges? I'm interested in purchasing the badge with the lights.

I ordered VII tails from Vivid, and got them promptly. They look much better, IMHO. And installation couldn't be easier - remove 2 screws per side, pull out, replace.

Here's a thread that desribes the fate of the Altezzas.

Well guys, Vivid racing seems to have organized a group buy.

There are 4 pages of people saying that they would love to have the tail lights. Vivid needs 20 confirmed participants to get the group rate of $340 for the pair.

So put your money where your mouth is.

Thank you VIVID. I was hoping to break the $300 barrier, but I guess it is impossible. (for those that did not click on the posted link, the price is $340 for 20 or more orders).

I guess I have to my money where my mouth is since I started this whole thread.... better than no discount at all I guess....

All we have to do is to get the part number off of a set of EVO7 tail lamps. Does anyone on this forum have a set? If you do can you look on the box and post the part number?

Once we have the part number we can just drive down to any Mitsubishi dealership and buy them directly from Mitsubishi. It should be pretty cheap.

Hmmm... not that sure about that. I actually contacted a Mitsu dealer and asked if they can get them. After a few days they got back to me and said he is not sure how to get that part in. So it may not be as easy as you think. Furthermore, from my experience, the dealer is seldom cheaper than the aftermarket world for equivalent parts....

evospeed: just get them now and you'll have them when you DO get your EVO in. That is what I'm doing...

You have to find out the part number, dealer's parts department can't look them up. They just have to order by number. We did the same thing with AE86 (Corolla GTS). The JDM front and rear bumper with all the supports and lights are selling for around $1000 however after the part numbers got posted I went to the Toyota dealership and priced it out to be $600. A saving of $400 plus no shipping cost.

It Mitsubishi dealers in the US could get parts from their Japan and European parts catalogs, we would have gone that route already. But most dealerships can't get parts that are not meant for the US.
