I think I am with everyone else on this one. I love my 8 I find myself all the time staring at it in the parking lot or just sitting in it for the h*** of it. If I got rid of my 8 it would be for a 9. If the X looks anything like the concept then F the X. Plus the 4G63 is a great motor. Look what happened to the Eclipse when they stopped putting the 4G63 in it, straight down hill and now look at it.

Keeping it might buy a IX eventually but will keep the VIII. When the motor goes "Ill Be Stroking"

Very glad that I got a IX - the last of a great line of cars. The X concept looks like a mazda mx6 crossed with the butt ugly new eclipse. Then the latest mules just look like they've tried to cut corners by sharing more parts with the regular lancer - more like a SRT4/neon than the current lancer evolution. The latest rumors of it being based on the PT Cruiser / neon / caliber platform confirm this. PURE BLASPHEMY. I know Evo's have evolved since the beginning but every car company screws up every now and then and Mitsubishi has been on a long downhill slide for sometime now so I expect the Evo to follow suit. Clutchless paddle shifters. Are there really any real road race cars that are autos. The Evo is a changin.

If it looked exactly like this, I'd HAVE to have one as a daily driver... and keep my VIII for a weekend big stick. However, it is already my understanding that the pre-production units have already been dumbed down considerably from this prototype. Which is definitely a minus. As much as I hate to say it. I'm afraid it is going the way of the Eclipse

I like the design of the X and I look forward to seeing it in person. I plan to hang on to my VIII as long as I can after I am done with payments. When my repair costs start to approach monthly payments (nothing for four months and then a $1200 repair) then I will first look at the X, then to either a Magnum or an STI.
