Modded Evo for road trip?

This october I will be going to FLA. Rather than flying down like I always do and complaining about not having my car when I see what the orlando area street scene has to offer, I'm kicking around the idea of driving down instead. My question is, has anyone with a heavily modified Evo experienced any kind of issues with long road trips(in this case a good full days worth of driving at a time)? I have a Koyo radiator and hope to not have to worry about overheating. Any useful input?

drove mine from oklahoma to south carolina with no problems.... just turned the boost down to 15 lbs and drove. no oil loss no overheating nothing, and even got used to no cruise control.

should not be a problem. I have a bad headgasket and I drive my car every where, as long as I dont get in boost. You should have no worries.

Not heavily modified but I did just return from a 7k mi road trip. The only thing I did do before leaving was my 10k service and cut a custom intercooler screen to keep rocks and bugs from destroying it. Had a great time while I was gone, but the humidity sucked. Which really made the car feel like it was in sand.

why not? I take the car everywhere. Went from MD to GA and back last summer - after repairing the head due to overheating. And yes, I also have Koyo rad. The only problem with summer driving is occasionally engine would die out near idle when using AC.

But, this year I'm flying not driving mainly due to high gas prices!!!

GL and have fun!!!

By the question asked in your title, as long as you are not boosting the whole 1000 miles there, you will be just fine. Keep temps. in check, tire pressures, brakes, fill your tank, and change your oil and filter before you go if you haven't recently. Also, keep it under 100mph if you want your gas mileage better than 100 miles per tank. Peace.
