Here is the link and I disagree with Sarugi the EVO does okay, but the author makes sure you know that the rice rocket is NO Porsche.

I thought it was a pretty good article (have the issue at home) and it was pretty stunning that such a relatively cheap car hung with the Porsches so well.

Thanks for the link, Jasil --- I wish I was as resourceful! Not a shootout I ever expected to see . . .

Do you guys think that it's fair to compare 30K to 100+k or 300+K cars?

On the track the FQ-340 with 345 hp was only a second off the the Porsche TT. I thought that was really good.

No, not really. But its nice to see one holding its own vs. cars of that price range. I like knowing I have paid less to play than say a z06 owner or Viper for the same fun.

My personal experience is that the Evo holds its own with the Porsche quite well. I went to a Porsche club HPDE earlier this year and was not passed by a single Porsche yet had to slow down several times to let a 911 turbo get ahead because the jack *** would not let me pass even though I was all over him for 2 consequtive laps and he was getting flagged for holding up traffic. I guess his big Porsche ego would not allow a 30K mitsu to pass him up. The author belittles the Evo for being well designed and easy to control and raves the cars that obviously are sliding all over the track.. or feel like they are going off the track any second - go figure.

Although its stupid for a writer to compare the Evo to the top end P cars - and then conclude the P cars are superior (duh, that's why they cost so much), it is flattering that such comparisons happen.
