Clutch install time and question
So the shop im gettin my clutch put in at just got the car up on the air about 30-40 minutes ago its 2:25 here. they are pretty formiliar with evo's and are a good shop with good techs. they work on evo's and a lot of high end cars such as porschue and bmw and mercades and such. the only thing they have to do besides but in the next clutch is hook up the stock push style slave cylinder and clutch line. how long do you think this should take them? kind of a stupid question, but i have seen people on here do it them selves and take like 20 hours which is rediculous and some take like 6 in there own driveway.
my other question is, i had a tilton twin plate hybrid in my car before and was always throwin the p0300 and now am going to have the exedy twin plate cermatallic heavy duty, should i still expect this cel to come on all the time or is it just the tranny itself thats causing it to go off?

Shops with experiance can do it in 5-8 hours depending on how many they have done.
As for the p0300 code, are you on stock plug wires? I know the '03 (including mine) has a problem with throwing this code but not so much the '04's. Try changing your sparkplugs and tightening down the coil packs really good.

I've done over a dozen Evolution clutch installs and they typically take me 6 to 7 hours, depending on how motivated I am. I have done one in (3) hours at the butt crack of dawn to get a customer ready for a track day.
Anyway, if you have a problems or need any future work pm. I can gurantee I will be cheaper than most any shop as I am not trying to make a living off of the work, its more for the fun of it

True, it can be done it that amount of time but, you never know if you are going to run into a snag of some kind so you always have to add much more time so people don't expect it to be done in 2 hrs. Plus if I say 2 hours someone will aks for it to be done in 1 hr 
I simply charge what I think is fair. I always try not to overcharge because I have seen some pretty ridiculous invoices.

This statement gets a "BS" flag.......ive done 12 clutches and 2.5 hours is NOT a possibility...........thats a fact........rrr

This statement is 100% accurate. 5-8 hours is what it takes when everything is properly installed and torqued. 2.5 hrs...........no............rrr

Anyway, since I am sponsored by Clutchmasters.... I gotta say Clutchmasters. Depending on what you do with the car depends on what type of clutch you need along with how much power you are putting down and/or what your power goals are.
I compete in the Philadelphia SCCA region's autocross and also do many track day events along with Time Attacks and Time Trials. My stock clutch handled the abuse pretty well ( I am only putting down 320 hp/315 tq) at wheels.
I installed a FX400L Clutchmasters and am satisfied with the performance, other than some chaterring, which is due to the non-slip nature of the clutch.
I've installed nearly all the Exedy offerings along with a few ACTs, A-Specs and a RRE specification clutch. The Exedy clutches are very nice due to the very wide range of clutches they offer. Clutchmasters also offers a wide range of models and they can specifically tailor a clutch to your needs.
By the way, I am 9 hrs. from Cinci per mapquest.
