Can you describe how you drive the car? DD, Auto-x, drag... Then we can recommend the best clutch for your needs.

i dont know if everstands....... 1000 installed i dont have to buy anything i just go there and its done, no problems.

my car will have about 330 to the wheels. i do not launch really ever, but the stock clutch dosent last long enough, i need something stronger, i really dont want a loud clutch either. is an exedy really worth it or should i just drop off the car and get it done.

Blake, what you said makes no sense. This is what you said:

"act 3 disk- 2100 Price with install will be 1000. good price?"

What is a 3 disk? And you said 2100 price, but then said the install is 1000. Are you saying it's supposedly an ACT 2100, and the total cost of the clutch, new flywheel (or resurfaced flywheel), all fluids, and installation is only going to be $1000? You might want to make sure on that, because:

1) Not sure what "act 3 disk" means
2) There is no 2100. There is only a 2900. 2100s are weaker than stock and are what we used to use on lightly-modded DSMs in the 90s
3) Fluids alone cost $100
4) It's a 10-12hr job that costs $1000 alone to do the install at a dealership...$800 at a good shop...$600 at a cheap shop...$400-500 done a guy working out of his garage.
5) New flywheel is $200-250, resurfacing one is $30-40, but requires driving it to a place to be resurfaced and back AFTER removing everything

He doesn't "do a lot of Evos" if he's suggesting an ACT 2100, which doesn't even exist for the Evo. I'm not even sure ACT still sells them. It's weaker than our stock clutch!

I still have no idea what "3 disk" means either. It's definitely a 1 disk clutch...

As warrtalon said the 2100 is an old dsm clutch and wont hold your power.

The ACT clutch for the Evo is this one
http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...7&cat=6&page=1
The pressure plate is rated at 2900 pounds.

If you have a few buddies and are reasonably mechanically inclined, a clutch install isnt that hard. just a PITA.

I dont know about 10-12 hours tho. That is what mitsubishi is forced to quote for clutch installs. It took me and a friend installing it for the first time about 8 hours total on a garage floor. So i would imagine an experienced shop with a lift, would take much less then that

Yeah, I was just quoting Mitsu's book time. It still takes quite a while, though.

I have a shop that does mine for $350. I provide the clutch, replacement friction surfaces for flywheel, and fluids. So it is $350 for labor only.

The best ACT streetable clutch for an EVO is the ACT HD Street. which is around $500. So for around $1000 you could get HD Street $500 + fluids $100 + Labor $350 + Flywhell resurface $30 = $980.

No one can expect $350, though. That's just a very fortunate and lucky hookup. I don't know how your shop even makes any money if they charge that much. It's very normal to pay $600-800 for a clutch job.

Hell, I'm sponsored by a shop and still pay $300 to get mine done in a timely manner just because of how long it takes and how it requires pushing customer cars back a day in the middle of a busy schedule.

Oh yea, it sucks. I am half tempted in just having AMS install my next one when that time comes.

I still cant make any sense on the 3 disk thing
