Interesting (if obvious and redundant) fact about Tarmac Black
I bought my Tarmac black evo on a crappy, dark, rainy day. It wasn't until days later when the rain let up and I cleaned it up that I realized Tarmac Black is actually a metallic flecked paint It has a very subtle indigo/crimson/red/purple metallic undertone. Similar to carbon black on a BMW but more red than blue on the undertone. Cool stuff

I've taken hundreds of pictures of my car.. I have yet to be able to capture those undertones or get a good photo of the flakes.. Its just one of those really subtle things that looks awesome at night under bright sodium street lights.. Black is a biotch to reproduce in photos anyway.. forget about any subtleties in the paint..

I love it and think it looks gorgeous.
Bishiboy (he of the wife rolled 2 day old evo) had a decent picture of it.

Good pic you dug up Go Trees. I stopped to get gas late in the evening and the car looked purple blue today. First time I really saw the blue.
Yeah black cars are a biiiiiatch to keep looking good, and both my cars are black I didn't want two black cars, really I didn't. It's just neither car looked right in any color other than black to me. Anyway, I'm using a Klasse Pinnacle kit on both cars now. Klasse is acrylic based and lasts way longer than most waxes. The downside is that on dark colors it leaves a shallow shine (not the deep wet look). So a coat (or more) of the Pinnacle wax after Klasse deepens the shine. I've done many, many waxes from Maguire's to Zaino. The problem with the other is that two weeks in my climate and the car won't even beed water and I have to wax all over again. In the long run this kit works best for me in that it keeps the cars paint protected the best and the longest w/shine up there w/the best waxes.
