Evo maintenance interval summary

Here are the maintenance intervals for the US Evo VIII... I don't show all of the maintenance which is "check" or "inspect" only, just those items which call for work to be done unconditionally:

Every 5000 Miles; or every 3750 Miles, severe maintenance schedule...
Change engine oil.
Replace engine oil filter.
Rotate tires.

Every 15000 Miles...
5000 Mile Service, plus
Replace air cleaner filter.

Every 30000 Miles...
15000 Mile Service, plus
Replace drive belts (for the generator, water pump, power steering pump).
Change manual transaxle oil.
Change transfer oil.
Change engine coolant.
Change rear axle oil, with Limited Slip Diff.

Every 60000 Miles...
30000 Mile Service, plus
Replace spark plugs, iridium-tipped type.
Replace ignition cables.
Replace timing belt.
Replace coolant hoses. (radiator hose, heater hose)

This is a summary of the information in the Warranty and Maintenance Manual, and is for general informational purposes (like planning your auto expenses budget) only; it is not to be used as a maintenance checklist -- use your own manual for that.

15000 Mile Service, plus
Replace drive belts (for the generator, water pump, power steering pump).
Change manual transaxle oil.
Change transfer oil.
Change engine coolant.
Change rear axle oil, with Limited Slip Diff.

As needed based on inspection of pads.

Clutch disc, brake pads, and tires generally are not "scheduled" replacement items; instead, they are replaced as needed.

I am due for the 30,000 mile service. Should i upgrade the fluids to redline or some other brand or just gowith the OEM fluids that they would normally put in. I am not too savvy in this area, so any help would be great.

I replaced mine at 30,000 miles, and it's only one belt, the manual says belts, but there is only one drive belt.

30,000 miles seems to be a very short recommended life for a belt if you're driving 10,000+ mi/yr. I am a firm believer in preventive maintenance, and not being broke down on the side of the road, but I have never changed belts at less than 50,000 miles and have never had anything close to a failure. I usually just change drive belts with the timing belt change at the soonest.

OTOH, ignition cables might fail before 60,000 miles, esp on a turbo car.

Be prepared to take it up the rear if you do it at dealers. I got charged $321 for a 15,000 mile service. I realized they charged me $12+ per quart of oil and $200 dollars for looking at my car for 2 hours (doing what?). I think my mechanic would only charge me about $100 for the whole thing at most. Oh and that does not include a new airfilter since I have a K&N.

Guess the timing belt I'll do through them but most everything else I'll do privately.

ummm, you change the diffs/tranny oil at every 15K miles, not every 30K! You're going to freak out when you change it...lots of metals stuck to the magnets. As far as the brake pads, I had them at about 40% or more last week with almost 30K miles...since I was already taking them out, I switched them out anyway. The acc. belt, I'm not sure on..how can you tell when its time to change it? Is it cracked or something? Mine looks like new.
