Factory Vortex Generator Vs. Carbon Fiber Generator

Hey guys! I was looking to get a vortex generator and was planning to buy the seibon vortex generator. My question is, will it perform as good as the OEM one in terms of equal downforce? It the seibon generator the exact shape and size as the OEM one? Thanks guys! Im getting the Seibon Generator for 260 shipped, is this a good price?

Did you install a wing on your RS? A VG is useless without one.

Yeah I got an MR and don't notice crap as far as downforce goes compared to other evos, I say get the CF one because even the OEM one is cheaply made and is stuck on with tape. LOL The Vortex Generator Just looks realy cool thats all.

I always thought the Vortex Generator looked crappy. In the world of aerodynamics, small variations of the surface will greatly affect the way it works.

Most of the aftermarket "aero" that is out there isn't functional. If you're doing it for looks, go for it!

I believe the Vortex Generator assists with the aerodynamics over the top of the car, to make the rear wing more effective. How much do you realistically need them? Beats me

edit: added 'aftermarket' to aero

Not true. While it may not create more downforce w/out a wing, it still reduces drag.

I would be inclined to think that the vortex generators create drag.

vortex generators create drags itself, but it serves to reduce the vaccum area on top of your car. hence, it creates more downforce. Wing or without wing it creates more down force. Overall it reduces total drag coefficent tiny bit( not noticeable though). I posted this info with exact numbers before.

drilling holes in the carbon fiber trunk IS NOT hard at all! I think there was a thread posted on here about it. Just make sure you tape off where you're going to drill first to prevent cracking of the carbon fiber! oh yeah, MEASURE several times before you drill too.
