Hey guys, i was looking at a bunch of evos at a tuning session the other day and noticed that some evos have flat black B pillar finishes (like mine) while others have glossy black finishes. There was a wide cross section of years and colors having both types. I tried doing a search but came up with nothing. Does anyone know what determines the finish?

 

03-04 had the gloss finish, while 06 is flat black. I am not sure about the 05's though.

 

Ummm, I think it has to do with color, not model year.

I had a 05 GSR (base), apex silver, flat black B pillars.

Now have a 06 IX, tarmac black, and the B pillars are gloss black, actully tarmac black, so it matches.

But then again, I could be wrong.

 

I have an 06 base in Apex Silver and mine are flat black. My friend has an 05 base in Tarmac Black and his are flat black as well. I looked at a TB IX SE this week and it also had flat black pillars. There doesnt seem to be any discernible pattern.

 

There are a lot of subtle differences between years. Anything from the pillars to the texture of the interior dash parts is different.

 

Mine is flat black as well.

 

I'm actually looking for a '05+ dash piece that goes around the radio and hvac because it is smooth. Mine is the same rough texture as the surrounding dash.

im not sure if i know what you guys are talking about but if you tell me then i could tell you what the ww ix mr has (upper or lower on the pillar?)
