Freckling on the front pillars

Hey guys I just finished detailing my car and I just noticed there's like freckles on my front pillars. It's weird.. I can't run my nails on them.. It looks like stains.. I tried everything from light cleaners to heavy and nothing.. Idk weathers its. Clear coat starting to fail or a stain.. It's a evo x so I wouldn't expect the clear coat to start peeling already.. Thanks.. Will post a pic when I can get a nice shot of it.

Is it like tree sap? That usually makes little speckles and needs like a clay bar and a lot of elbow grease to get off..

Tough to tell from the picture for sure. Could you feel those spots before you tried cleaning them? You said they are white looking, but in the picture they look gray or black. If they truly are white and you could never feel them then clearcoat failure is a possibility, but I'd consider it a very small possibility. Usually clearcoat failure starts on a horizontal surface. Has the car ever been repainted?

The more likely possibilities are iron deposits (would have felt rough- Iron-X or similar products would clear it right up), paint overspray (use claybar to clear it up), or it could be something else entirely. Did you use something on the black trim next to the A-pillar to gloss it up? Maybe something with a dye in it like Mother's Back to Black? If so maybe some overspray from that dye is on the paint?

Good feedback, I'd try a claybar first as well...

well its the best pic i could get. it was pretty tough being that my car is silver and the spots are white. well all i can say is that i cant feel it with my nail. i tried clay baring but no results. no i havent used any back to blacjk near that area. could it be windshield cleaner? or water spots? well.. idk who to turn to? body guy or detail guy?

Not sure maybe it's fallout from ***ushima. That's odd and doesn't seem normal.

It could possibly be window cleaner. I doubt it's water spots unless you were close to a sprinkler system that might have sprayed your car since raindrops usually leave larger spots. If clay doesn't work I would try a tar remover like Stoners Tarminator next. Or you could go straight to mineral spirits which is the foundation of most tar removers. If that doesn't work I'd take it to a detailer. They might try something that has high cleansing ability and low/no abrasives like Klasse All in One with a polishing pad. That's what I'd do anyway. Again I'm going on the assumption that this section of the car has never been repainted.

Well I bought the car used. I didn't notice it the last time I detailed it.. It's been months since I did.. I don't think the car was repainted.. No mismatched coloring.. An it's only on the pillars..

i would just wait till it gets worse. Or if you want to fix it maybe you can find a body shop that can paint the pillar and blend it. I would guess 400 or so if they can do that.

yeah I do. its pretty much in the sun 24/7.. ive been trying to keep the paint nice by waxing and sealant but I guess It wasn't good enough. I wanna try and fix it asap because I might be selling the car in a year or so.. so for selling purposes I wanna see if I can fix it. at least the pillars.
