shopped for EVO in NYC area: Cheapest price $27,888... highest $1500-$3K over MSRP

I went Evo shopping with my buddy today. He is going to get the car next month, but for now we refuse to pay MSRP.....

Cheapest Price we found was at a Brooklyn dealership for $27,888, no sunroof, with tall wing.

We believe that we could get it cheaper if we shopped more.

How much did you guys pay for yours?

Why didn't your buddy buy then? That price is below invoice.

Did you find any without the wing?

Would you mind posting the name and number of the dealership willing to sell for $27,888? That's better than the $28000 price I found at a dealership in Baltimore...

He's waiting till next month.... besides we got it in writing, he gave us his business card, wrote his name on it and wrote down the price for us. we think we can find a dealer to do better than $27,888, so we'll use the business card as a bargaining tool...

As for me personally, am not ready to buy yet, I'll get mine next year.

As for my buddy, next month, when his cousin pays him for his GSR

The dealership in Brooklyn is called: Bay Ridge Mitsubishi
on 65th street between 6th and 7th avenues. I think its downtown brooklyn.

The sales man name was Nelson or Norman, I forgot... I dont have his business card,m my buddy does.

Happy evo shopping everyone...

Bannn all those dealerships charging over MSRP

One dealership, Koeppel Mistsubishi on Northern Blvd...was very nice enough to show me the door when I told them I'm not paying any mark-ups.... idiots sure wont get my business

Another dealership manhasset mitsubishi....told me a lot of BS and stories and they were chargning $1500 over MSRP

Potamkin Mitsubishi in Midtown manhattan had a $3K mark-up on theirs

I'm thinking about it...it's a nice little car that you can beat the **** out of without really having to worry about it. But I really have too many cars as it is (the AMG, an Audi S4, and a Z06 that I just bought this past week).

And yep, that was where I found the $28K Evo (www.autonation.com).

Screw paying MSRP at potamkin, why dont you just cross the friggin Brooklyn bridge and pay thousands less at that Brooklyn dealership?
and besides on the way home you'll be breaking it in .....

my buddy and I will do some more shopping and try to find better pricing....

Next week, we'll hit up dealers in New Jersey, Connecticut, and upstate NY

I just called Bay Ridge Mitsubishi in Brooklyn and spoke to Nelson. It seems like that $27,888 price is legit. The only catch I see here is you have to finance the car through Mitsubishi (no cash). I'm assuming this is due to the dealership getting a kickback of sorts from the manufacturer. But Nelson said I could pay off the whole loan the next day without any penalty.

I'm going down there tomorrow night to have a look. They have silver and red in stock with 4 more on their way. I don't think the Evo will ever get cheaper than this, so I might just do it... :-)

LOWBALL

That price you have on the business card is called a "lowball" There is about a 99% chance you will pay more once the deal actually happens and I promise you will not get a better price unless it is an even lower "lowball" to get you to start doing the deal. The bottom line is the dealer WILL find a way to make money on you (it's how we keep the lights on!) Anything $500 to $1000 behind invoice will be a great buy on an EVO right now and don't expect prices to get any lower. I anticipate getting more for the EVO's once the AD campaing launches and "2 Fast, 2 Furious" hits the theaters.
