depends on your insurance company. Unforunately I chose to self Insure so this one is coming stright out of the piggy bank

Yea. Most of the times the parts dept. at dealerships work closely with other shops, so if you say you work for another shop/dealership or have a friend that does they give you wholesale price. They also normally dont even bother to check if you work there or not. I worked as a parts driver at a dealership for a little over a year and thats how they and the other dealerships we worked with operated.

well look on the bright side...you've still spent less money on insurance + fixing the car then the rest of us on insurance premiums...even with paying to fix your own car

I hear that if the event is timed, then it is not covered by insurance. They usually want nothing to do with race cars unless the insurance is racecar specific.
