Then i say its prolly not your wheel bearing. A lot of evos have decel noise that comes out of the tranny/t-case and it transfer the noise thru the driveshaft to the rear diff. This may be what your hearing. Just check out your bearings for play. If you dont see anything then you should be just fine.. But i would try to find out what it is.

Ok, I got my car on a lift and looked for play in the tires but didn't find any! I found a little bit of play in the center diff. but I think that is pretty normal. Could it be my trans?

Well i see you made your trip to Chicago and back safely... Thats good. As for your noise. Are you sure its not coming from your T-case..?

As for the t-case having play. How did you check that? If you moved your driveshaft and noticed that it moves a little bit before the wheels turn..thats okay. But i believe that factory spec is less than 1/8" or maybe a little less. Can someone confirm what the specs are?

Could it just be my trans fluid because I haven't changed it yet and I currently have 15,300 miles on my car.

Very possible. Use BG Synchromesh II in your tranny and also change the T-case and rear diff with Mitsu Diaqueen.

BG Sunchromesh you can prolly find locally. And The Diaqueen @ mitsu or online. It will prolly be easier and more cost effective if you just have the dealership do the t-case and rear diff. But they normally dont sell it in the gallon jugs. But check and see if they do.

Search for BG's website and search on their website for your local dealer. You shouldnt pay more than $50 for it locally. Also you will only need 3 qts of BG for your tranny, and .58 of a quart for the t-case and the same roughly for the rear diff.

Good luck.

just some info.......when you hear the noise if you steer car side to side(safely please) the noise should get louder or go away if it is a wheel bearing because it will load or unload the bearing, causeing noise to change.
also if it is wheel bearing it is normally covered under your powertrain warranty, which on an 05 should be 7/100 if you are the original owner. i know you say you hear it after alignment, but some noise on decel is normal for these cars, i hear it on alot of them, but it is not loud
hope that helps
