when i did a credit check for buying an evo my credit score was about 780-800 cant remember. anyways i told them what i made, and all i needed to put about 2000.00 down. when i needed to come in the next day they said if the bank asks how much i make the finance manager told me to say im an assistant manager and i make 4200.00 per month, thats almost 3X what i make. is this a little unusual? this is before they turned the paper work in to the bank, i never put that as how much i make. i got a little worried about it, my finance manager told me just as long as i make the payment on time there should be no problem, right. i said yes one more thing, any of u that fianced your evo did u have to lie how much u made?

When I bought my Lancer back in Sept 02, I was right out of college and unemployed. The salesperson told me to put down what I was making at the internship that I had the previous summer and I would be fine. That's what I did and I was approved.

So people are allowed to ask the same stupid question time and time again, but my response is removed?
Don't tell me that you (mods) don't know that this guy needs a wake up call because you also deleted his entire previous thread about the exact same thing. I guess talking about lying to get what you want is tolerated, but telling someone to get a clue isn't.
Oh well, how is this for a response then...
"Yes, by all means, go along with whatever the finance person tells you to tell the bank so that you can get the car. It's not unusual at all and you really shouldn't worry about it. I would trust in him 100%"

maybe if your making just over a 1200 a month you should not be buying a new car. But then again if 75% of you income is going to your car and you drive an evo you must be cool.
I'm an F&I manager at a dealership. I will be the first to tell you if you want the car, and you have good credit like you say don't worry about it.... the bank will never check with your employeron what you make if the credit isthat good so just buy the damn thing! the only thing is how are you going to be able to keep maitaing the car if you only make 1200. a month?? these cars arn't cheep to maintain
