Boost Question
Boost Question
I have been driving my evo for about 2 months now. I dont know how much it is running though, becuase my electronic boost controller got stolen. When you give it wot or even hard accel. The turbo spools up and pulls really hard until about 4500 - 5000 and then it seems to almost cut out and not pull nearly at all. I have never owned or driven a turbo charged car before this. Is this the way a turbo car should feel? It just doesnt feel right, I think it may be partially due to my 720 cc injectors, which I am getting replaced with smaller ones shortly. It could also be my crappy intake, but I doubt it. It could also be my full exhaust, is it moving too much air? What I am gonna do is just buy a hallman pro MBC and then a boost gauge and set it. I dont know what to set it to however. Thanks

Well get a boost gauge first. The car may already be tuned, but you said your boost controller was stolen so first off what are you using (if anything) to control boost? Its not done by the ECU.

First things first though. At present you have no idea how much boost you are making. So, get a boost gauge. Get an MBC. And make sure the boost lines are all routed properly.
