I agree with most other most people have good luck with the K&N and Works filter

but as others stated best way to start off this car is as followed

drop in
tbe
boost gauge
boost controller
tune

you'll see huge gains and have a reliable car that you will enjoy everyday

I still say if your dead set on an intake just get a drop in (work/K&N). The factory intake box is good up to 400 hp on an VIII. Not sure about the IX (im assuming its the same?). You'll get a better gain out of a TBE. I know its more expensive, but its better to save your money for that than spend it on an intake which might or might not do anything without a tune. I have been hearing on here that the IX's are accepting intakes better than VIII's. Do a search and you should be able to find more.

K&N drop in is best until turbo upgrade or close to 500whp.

Spend the extra cash and get the Works drop in. It's slight but more noticeable than anything else (Stand Alone). A Lot of the crap you hear from people's testimonials about intakes are BS. It's in their head. It sounds better, looks great when you raise the hood and they spent the cash. Usually missing the point of spending money on a "Performance Part" because there is never a proven dyno figure to back it up.

These same people secretly love Vin Diesel and wear cut off shirts to be like him. Stay stock box and save the install time and get something that is proven in power, spool and throttle respnse (Yes it improves the low end bog) Go Works-It's worth the 129.
