Intake Suggestions?

Can someone tell me what the best intake is for an evo 9? Some people are saying that a drop in air filter is better and some are saying otherwise. I am looking to purchase a new intake soon and am not sure what to purchase

Thanks,
Zac

if you get an intake you will see no gains and probably hurt performance without a tune

an air filter is your best bet right now...the stock air box is more than capable

why Do you need a Tune for an Air filter, Can't you just Pull the Batt - and let the Ecu relearn the Idle and Stuff. I mean the Only differenc i see is that you would suck in warmer air, but there is a Temp sensor in the MAF, its called an IAT. I personaly believe the HP drop due to an Air cone without a tune is a myth, but i do agree that if you get a tune you will have more hp. Some one has to jut buy an aircone an dyno their car.

Trust me, I have been down this path before. As tempting as getting rid of that big box and getting a nice shiny intake with a big cone filter is, hold off. There are so many other mods that you can do first.

As mentioned before, many intakes when added will either not gain power or make you lose power without being properly tuned for it. It is not a myth, it does happen. I did not see what mods you have, if any. Start with a drop-in filter (k+n or similar), full exhaust, boost gauge, boost controller, and a reflash.

i recently installed the Apexi power intake and now i am finishing my carbon fibered Apexi Induction box. The tune is coming very soon...

However i have to say that with this intake i don't see any flactuations in Idle or running very rich situations until now. The filter is pretty impressively made, the quality is #1 and the factory BOV of my 9 sounds INSANE!!!!!! boost pressure is exactly the same as before (Defi BF) and i noticed the spool up to be a lil bit faster...
