I'm trying to exercise some dinero depletion reduction. The suby is almost paid off, the Evo is an expensive piece to insure now... especially in SoCal, and I attend trackdays with my GSX-R 1000. Trackday's are my other expensive hobby and I need a truck to get the bike to the track. (I currently use my buddy that has a truck and trailer to get our bikes there) I hate being a moocher.

The Evo brings out too much evil in me. It attracts too much bad attention too. The suby... not so much.

They can keep you from getting insurance or get you dropped. Usually it up's the price to the tune of twice the amount if you are a high risk guy... which I guess I now am even though I've had no accidents.

put a block of wood under the gas pedal so you can only open up the throttle 10%. It's how I save gas.

I don't know about Cali, but here in GA, you could go to traffic court and ask for 1mph to be deducted in exhange for a guilty plea. 14mph and under doesn't count towards points or insurance. Good luck, I have had 5 speeding tickets in the last year, and got out of 2 of them.

one ticket a year isn't that bad as long as they're not major violations like reckless driving or DUI, racing or something like that. You can get a speeding ticket just as easy in a Kia as you can an EVO.

I had 3 tickets all inside of a 3 month period 8 years ago. Talk about luck.. I haven't even been so much as pulled over since then either. Whats funny is that was also my slowest car.

I'm not sure if selling your evo will help your ticket problem. It still has enough power to get into trouble with. But if you want to save money on insurance and maintenance, I can see that.

not to be rude but your selling of the car doesnt have anything to do with this does it (your problematic oil leak) ?

It took the dealership 2 trips to figure out that one of the threaded bolts that goes into the Mivec system wasn't torqued down enough from the factory. I haven't had any problems since then.

You act like I'm trying to sell my car to you. Silly Yanks. It's a good little beast, it's just a $32,000 beast. It begs to be driven fast every now and then. A Tacoma... not so much. Besides, I hardly drive the car anyhow. It just sit's in the garage next to my wife's WRX and my bike.

I just need something to get my bike to Willow Springs and Buttonwillow. I used to roadrace with the CMRA back in the day and I can tell you that racing a bike vs a car costs much less and is way more fun. There's something to be said when you are dragging a knee next to another guy at 120 mph.

You're still going to get tickets. Ride the bus.
