Soomeone backed into my evo :( (kinda long)

Watz up guys, I need some opinions on what to do next

some what short version: Due to some construction at my house, I am not able to park in the garage or driveway. So I park to evo infront of the house on the lawn, but 2 of the wheels are still on the pavement, and someone visiting my neighbor across the street from my house backs into my evo. Now I dont personally witness it, but my other neighbor saw the whole deal and calls me up and tells me some kid hit my car and drove off.

I call FHP and because there are no tickets to write, all they do is hassle me about parking infront of my house and how its illegal, standard BS (the car was facing the correct direction and was barely on the pavement). I told them my other neighbor got the tag and she gave it to the trooper, who gives me a statement and tells me to call my insurance company and then leaves. So I go next door to get the drivers info from the family that the kid was visiting, but they start acting like they dont know the driver and basically tell me to get off their property and go f-myself.

So I call my insurance company (progressive), and give them the story, and the tag info, as I know that they can get that guys insurance info, thats if he has any. They tell me that they cant find the Tag info in their system and to just go ahead and have them fix it, and if they do find any info, they will get me back my $500. I double check the tag number with the neighbor and she tell me that the car is always parked next door during the days (when I am at work). I gave her a camera to take a pic of the tag so that I can give it to the insurance, which she does, and they still cant find the drivers info.

So my headlight, front left fender and front bumper are jacked. My whole dash now vibrates and my insurance company is pretty much forcing me to take it to some no-name shop they call a service center. Of course I want to take it to the stealership for new parts, not for anyone to try and fix the damaged parts.

Sorry to hear that man... that really sucks. I seriously know how you feel. My evo broke b/c the last jack-A** abused it, my bike wiped out on me the other day (which was my fault), and somebody decided it was a good night to smash my car window a couple days ago..

Wow that sucks man sorry to hear...There has to be some sort of way you can get that kids info. Usually with insurance companies they have a guy come out and asses the damages on the car. Then they send you a check for the damages minus the deuctible and you take it to the shop of your choice. But if your own insurance company is going to be covering it your premium is most likely going to go up. I would suggest doing whatever you can do to get that kids info and have him or his insurance company pay for it. Good luck with everything....

I got Hit in a Parking lot , but lightly they just scratche up the Rear quarter alittle and wrinkled the flat area around the wheel. It would cost me more to find out who did it and every thing than just to have it fixed, but i would need a new quarter pannel and a new paintjob for the whole car cause you can blend that without just having to re paint the roof and other quarter. Then you have to blend into the doors and fenders, soo just might as well have the whole think reshot, cause mitsu paint sux anyway. Sorry to hear that, if you can't get the person to pay for it you can always break him or his car.

Take a day off work and call the police while the kid's car is over there. Cops come, talk to the neighbor that witnessed, gg.

Thanks for the replies guys, I have not seen this guy or his car personally, just the pics that my other neighbor took. In the picture you can see the damage on his car as well. I have taken a few days off and and even parked my car at my g/fs house to see if he will show up but I didnt see him, and I am sure that the neighbors that he was visiting would tell him not to come by if I am home. One day I saw that father from the house outside mowing the lawn and as I walked up to try to talk to him, he walked away. I am going to work with my insurance on it as I have no other choice for now, and hope that if this guys get whats coming to him, if not from me from someone else.
