contact mitsubishioemparts.com they sell the OEM sensor for $172.46 but you will have to call them... Like i said before i am pretty sure is the same part number for the 03-05... But they can verify that when you call. If so then i would use the autometic website to order it.

I've been told that PB is much better. I was going to get some, but Home Depot didn't have any (of course).

I've also heard Kroil beats them all. But I don't think you can just go get it anywhere, you might need to order it.

Again, I've confirmed they are different. You cannot use a '03-'05 rear O2 sensor in a IX. Please refer to my PN# request thread for the propper PN# for the IX cars.

YES PB BLASTER!!! Awesome stuff. I sure hope they are paying to replace the damage they did. Mechanics, yet they cannot swap an exhaust without stripping an o2. Hmmm.

ROFL - nice one.

I get so sick of hearing stories about mechanics breaking things. I hope you make them pay for their damage.

It would be nice but truth is they were doing me a favor by letting me use their lift and tools. When I got stuck I asked them if they could help and the bolt was eventually stripped....If he didnt do it im sure I would of.

Why would you heat it up? Metal expands as it gets hotter. You need it cold!

No, in those cases heating it up is almost always better than cold. The metal AROUND the sensor expands to help loosen things. He did it right (or tried to, anyway).

I remember the first time I pulled the O2 on my EVO VIII. It had 25-30K miles on it, and I was dreading the idea. It came out so stinkin' easy, I was shocked. The next time was just a few thousand miles later. I really struggled and almost stripped it. I was totally cursing he idiot who had installed it last (me!).

Use a tiny bit of anti-sieze lubricant, and DON'T OVERTIGHTEN it!

Believe me I wont be over tightening it! Im just pissed that I have to spend a couple hundred bucks to get a new one just to get the damn SES light to turn off. I wish I could just use a universal!!!!! From what ive been told the IX has a new sensor then previous years and the only place to get one is through mitsu......
