Getting EVO IX on Sunday... incentive Q.

hello guys, ive been reading on this forum for the past year, and finally am going to purchase a the ix.

Im getting it for 28,999 and hopefully 1,000 off additional if you guys can inform me if the 1,000 cash incentive is effective on not only the lancer but also the lancer evolution. I went to mitsubishicars.com and noticed theres a 1000 cash back for getting a lancer, but doesnt say evo... isnt it in the same genre?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2006 Lancer
$1,000 factory rebate or 1.9% APR for 48 months (48 monthly payments of $21.65 per $1,000 financed at 1.9% APR)

Or get 1.9% APR financing available through Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America, subject to approved credit and insurance. Not all customers will qualify. Retailer price, terms, and vehicle availability may vary. See participating retailer for more details. Ends 10/2/06.

Almost no incentives apply to the Evo ... they don't even give the Education Edge (or whatever) $500 rebate part of the time. I doubt you'll get that deal on the Evo. Good luck trying though, I hope you can pull it off.

Actually, I'm looking now and www.mitsubishicars.com is telling me there is "up to $1000 cash back" incentive available. Push for it man! Good luck!

EDIT --> Upon further inspection, that $1000 is $500 Military and $500 Education Edge ...

No, none for the IX. It's an Evo man, not a Lancer...

$28,999 is already ridiculously low for how awesome the Evo IX is, so if that's already stretching your funds, you may want to re-consider, because the insurance will be huge, the gas guzzling will hurt, and the maintenance costs can get steep.

That 1000 is gonna save you a whopping 20 bucks a month on your payment.

More than that if you factor in interest oh his loan.

Lots of incentives for the other Mitsu cars but none for the Evo series.

They did include the Evo 8 in the 0% financing deal last year, but that was at the end of that model's lifecycle.

The literature usually excludes the Evo but despite this, I know of several dealers who were still offering the Education Edge $500 rebate.

Yo Good Luck With the Evo, What you gonna Do With Your MR2, I had and Sw20 and it was Turbo, a blast to drive. I love MR2s, Wasn't that Big on the Spyder but its alright. If you put the Wide body and a Huge GT wing in the Back with some Fat *** tires it looks pretty sick.

I don't know how you're paying for it, but if you're going to finance it, you're better off trying to get the 1.9% APR at 48 months (IF the offer is indeed available on the Evo). That'll actually save you WAAAY more than $1000 over the course of 4 years. I assume any other bank loan is AT LEAST 6% nowadays for 48 or 60 months.

Of course if you're paying cash, then nevermind. Party on. :-)

Either way, good luck! Very exciting!!!

I tried to get this $1k rebate when I bought my IX and they said this was for Lancer's only . The Evolution was not included . I tried to argue the point that I was buying a Lancer and quickly said no Evolutions are excluded from this . They still couldn't show me anywhere it said this but I was getting a steal on my car ( $3000 under invoice with a discount through my employer ) and didn't push the issue anymore .

thanks for the input guys...

well tomorrow is the day, i get my mr2 back from repainting and all stock parts put back to terminate the lease...

your right i didnt think about the 1.9apr, ill definatley have to haggle with that.

My friends brother from john elway toyota also informs me he can beat mitsu's price, he can get me a new ix for below invoice, maybe dropping 4-5k off invoice. So i have to drop by him first as I know for a fact mitsubishi wont be able to do this although they say they can beat anyones price.

the mr2 was okay, ill tell you, i have NEVER since 01 have had anyyyyyyyyy issues with this vehicle, I dont know if its toyota, but damn its reliable, its 74k miles on it so far, i wish I can keep it but i out grew the 2 seater vehicle 2 years ago. I kinda want to buy a used ix maybe 4-5k mile on it, but kinda weary on the break in procedure the previous owner did.
