Search online for Henry county courthouse and to speak with a traffic case solicitor. Yes it's done in court, however prior to going to court you want to make sure that your solicitor will be able to do this for you. You're basically plea bargaining with them for a reduction. You'll still have to pay the fine.

Goodluck

Here's some extra info from http://www.speedingticketcentral.com...ng-ticket.html
Georgia Ticket - Out of State License
Georgia will report your speeding ticket back to your home state and it will be posted to your driving record and treated just as if the ticket was issued in your home state. Some states do not enter minor out of state speeding tickets so check with your DMV to be certain what effect the Georgia ticket will have on your license before you just send in your money.

For example a 15mph+ ticket in Georgia will earn a North Carolina driver a 30 day suspension of their drivers license.

In many cases, contesting the ticket may result in a reduction that will not be reported back to your home state saving you big bucks on your auto insurance premiums. It is worth the expense of hiring a Georgia traffic ticket attorney to represent you in court anytime the ticket will result in a significant increase in your auto insurance premium or you drive a company vehicle. Typically any traffic ticket for 20mph over the limit will result in a major increase or if you have another speeding ticket within the last three years.

But that's for GA plates. Most police I see ussually target out of state cars for tickets.

As for tickets you can ussually go to court early find the prosecuting attorney and cut a deal. Ussually they do this just to hurry things along. If the cop isn't there they have to dismiss the case so they cut a deal to get some money and not take the chance of going to trial without the cop there.

The best way is to see if you can postpone the date for another date of YOUR choosing. The officer ussually puts the court date for a day he has a bunch of tickets to show up for. If you move the date there is a better chance he won't be there.

+1 GA law allows you to put off your date once and it normally puts it off for at least another month. My friends and I got a ticket for disorderly conduct (drifting, but as far as the cops are considered they didnt see it happen! so the cop was just trying to get a fix it ticket on us). We just went to court and talked to the proscuting attorney and they werent gonna drop it enough (ticket was for 250 they would only drop it to half and cop said it would only be 50 bucks), so we went to court and fought it and the judge was really nice and dropped the fee to 50 bucks and nothing went on our record. That was in woodstock though and they mainly deal with rich brats whose moms and dads bail them out, so im not sure how they will be in the county you got your ticket in. In my experience though the judges in GA are pretty nice.

Yet again if you had read my post a COP told me that 15 over is acceptable. Not my uncles brothers dads sisters dogs aunts mom told me. Read before you critisize. I know he was doing 20 over, but here in GA try to find someone doing the speed limit on the highway. Do you yourself drive the speed limit on the highway?

so you guys are saying that if I can talk to the proscuting attorney that I can get them to cut a deal and get the ticket dropped some??? Now this is nothing I could do over the phone right because its a long way back up to the ATL....I only want to make that trip once more....If you think I could talk to him via phone would I just call the traffic clerk of court and they would be able to tell me who they are....
thank you tripper for knowing exactly about the driving in the ATL...its crazy if you were doing the speed limit you would probably be killed....now that was not the case at 1 in the moring but as I stated before I was getting tired and fighting a horriable allergy attack so all I had in mind was getting to the exit which was only like 1 mile further........

Look into pleading no contestant. nolo. You get one every 5 years in GA if not a felon. Go to court, present a driving defense course you will take, and ask the judge to please reduce the speed by 6mph in exchange for your guilty plea and driving course proof. If he says no, ask if you can plea nolo. They will not always let you do that. If not, plea not guilty and take it to trial. Get a good traffic lawyer and I'm sure you can get it reduced 6mph. Good luck, I have won and I have lost.

If you can't do anything over the phone and have it in writing before Nov 2 wait until the last moment and get it postponed. The closer to the Holidays the more likely everyone will be busy and want to resolve it faster.

ok guys heres the response I got form the lawyer via email: "Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, this is a very difficult
situation based on the court that you are in. It is true that if you
get the ticket reduced down to 74 in a 60 mph the Court does not report
the ticket to the DMV if you are a Georgia licensed driver. However,
with out-of-state drivers, my understanding is that Henry County may
still report to the DMV. Also, the Judges and Prosecutors in Henry
County are very professional; however, they normally are not agreeable
to reducing speeding tickets. If you would like me to handle the case,
I am available. Obviously, I would explain to the court the extending
circumstances in this case and hopefully get the ticket reduced to a non
reportable speed or a speed that will not cause you to lose your job.
My fee is $750.00 for representation at a first hearing and $500.00 for
representation at a second hearing if necessary (generally I am able to
resolve most cases in Henry County in 1 or 2 hearings). Please let me
know if you would like for me to handle the case. Best regards,"

I hoping that he will be able to do something I going to continue to talk with him a confirm that before I put anything in stone though....also for u georgia people do you know if the cop does not show up the tickey gets thrown out thing is still in effect in GA...I know it is here in FL but not sure of ga??
