Pulled over in GA and need some help!!!

Hey guys,
I was pulled over 10/2/06 at 1a.m. for going 80 in a 60 right outside of ATL in Henry County. I should have got a ticket for tailgating because I was on the *** of a semi in the center lane and there was a semi in the right lane beside me. I was coming back from the NMRA nationals in Bowling Green KY and was trying to get to the next exit to try and get a room. I have been driving very calm since my last ticket a year ago and was just tired and I honestly did not know the speed limit was 60.(its 70 on most all highways in FL)

Now I really have to get this ticket dismissed...Im a Paramedic here in FL(have been for 3 years) and CAN NOT have anymore moving violations on my record or else I will probably loss my job/car/house and end up back at my parents house. I'm 21 and I think I have been doing pretty well for myself but now im risking lossing it all. I already have a 4 pointer and a 3 pointer on my license. I got them withen a weeks time and took the points for the 3 and was going to take the class for the 4 but was told I had 3 months to turn the paper in when I only had 2. I took the paper in 2month and a day and my license was up for suspension and the class did not count and the points stayed

I need help from anyone who has got a ticket in GA, Faught a ticket in GA, or knows any good lawyers in GA that can get me out of this. I have done some searching and found one guy, Sean J McIlhinney, and want to know if anyone has heard of him or know any other lawyers that might be able to help me...
PLEASE if you have any info or know of anyone you can call to find out anything that might help please let me know.....Thank-you, Brandon

Georgia is pretty lenient on speeders if you can make it to court. Find out who your solicitor is and then talk to them about reducing the speed from 20over to 14. Anything 14mph and under does not leave the courthouse or get reported to the dmv and best of all no points.

How do I find out who the solicior is and when you say 14 and under does not leave the couthouse does that mean that will have to be done in court....Im sorry if these are easy questions its just that I have NO experience in how the leagal system works at all....I wasn't planning on having to deal with it...ever

Yeah I looked up and found that the points will carry over to my fl license and that Fl will not allow any class to remove the points......I also cant take the class anyways because I tried to take it for my last ticket that ended up almost suspending my license....I'm just going to have to hope that a lawyer can either get me out of this or reduce it to where its a fee and no reporting out of state

Sorry to tell you, but i was with my friend when he got pulled over for speeding in his Dads truck and the cop straight up told him that GA cops will not pull you over for doing 15 over, but anything over 15 and they'll nab you. Just try to get a good lawyer. I dont personally know one, but there are plenty. Ive had many friends that got DUI's, speeding, etc. and they kept their licenses (even though the DUI's shouldnt have...). Just try to look for lawyers in the Atlanta area. The area you were in your not gonna find anything, but redneck hicks. Sorry about everything man. It sucks. Im in Kennesaw about 20 to 30 min north of Atl. Hit me up anytime your in the area. Gwinett isnt too far away.

He didn't let you go when you told him you were a paramedic? Why didn't you show him your badge? Did you even tell him you were a paramedic...?

Usually from what i have seen, if you work as a paramedic/firefighter/cop you don't get in trouble with the law.

Anyway, your only chance is to get a lawyer and they will try to find any mistakes made through the process, and worst case scenario they will make a plea bargain with the judge to get it down to 14 mph or whatever and you will have community service or something. Good luck .

My traffic violation lawyer goes into court and offers to donate the money for the infraction instead of paying the ticket and i get it off everytime, so has everyone else i know that has used him.

that freakin idiot had it out for me...I told him that I was a Paramedic and everything and he was not buying it at all...then I proceeded to tell him that he better never be passing through sumter county and have a accident or sudden heart attack because you dont even want to know the **** I will do.........lol

anyways I know that there is something that can be done to get this thing to not go to the DMV..Im just not sure what it is....Im just thinking though that for the right price anything is possible......My main argument though is going to be that the cop could not have got a accurate laser on me because of the distance between me and the semi...thats about all I can come up with..that and the fact I was having a horriable allergy attack and was tired and trying to rush to the next exit as to get of the road to not cause a accident............

Maybe you should chill out with your driving too. Then you won't have to worry about getting in trouble for speeding. It sucks I know, but it is reality that driving like that will get you in trouble.

Get a lawyer and cross your fingers.

In and around ATL, you can just about pass a cop doing 15 over and giving them the bird without any problems. The AVERAGE speed of ATL motorists on most main roads in and around Atlanta is about 15-20 mph over the limit. Some places its even worse like 285 where the speed limit is 55, but the average motorist speed is nearly 80 mph.
