So far Schaumburg Mitsubishi has been excellent as far as replacing stuff under warranty. Had all 4 calipers replaced because the paint was coming off.

Well I went in a couple weeks ago to show them that my spoiler and my trunk is rusting. They sent pictures into Mitsubishi and they gave the ok.

The manager tells me that they will have to have my car for a couple days. I said that was find and that I would have to call later when I found a car I could get around to places. I call back and tell him I could not get one to rent because I was not of age and asked if they could give me a loaner car. He said that I could get it today. I went in at 8am to drop my car off and they tell me they cant give me a rental.

Im sorry, i just need to vent. You can be 18 to buy a car, but you have to be 21 to rent. I am 20 and I own my car, paid off, and the title is in my name. I dont want to rent a car, but because my car has warranty issues I need a car to get me to work and school.

This doesnt seem right.

Be happy they are covering the repairs. I am sure there was nothing in the paperwork you signed when you bought the car that said they have to give you a rental car. Some dealers dont even give loaners out at all. Its a courtesy and is not required so if you cant get one, I wouldnt be too mad. Just be happy they didnt deny warranty coverage on those parts like has happened to other people on here.

 

no, i know its not all mitsu. im mad for the fact that they told me they would give me a rental. i just think its ridiculous i cant even pay to rent a car. thats my issue
i tried to find another car, i called them back to tell them i couldnt rent a car because i was not of age.
and thats when they told me they could get me a rental by today, wednesday...

Yeah sorry guys, but FYI you HAVE to be 21 to rent a car, be is a loaner or whatever. You should have already known this, and it's just the way it is; it has NOTHING to do with , the same thing will happen anywhere.

I'm not 21, so everytime my car is at the stealership i have my mother ride down with me and pick up the loaner, then when we get home I drive it until my car is fixed. It's just life, you have to learn to cope...

 

It doesnt matter how old you are i was renting cars for work when i was 18 you just have to pay up the ***. Also act like you dont have a father or mother that can rent it for you. And schaumburg does hand out loaners the problem is mitsu doesnt want to pay for it normaly you have to pay for a loaner once you pass a certin cost in warranty they wont let you have a loaner no more with out paying.

Yes, i know and have always known you have to be 21 to legally rent. I was just venting and saying it was a stupid rule. Ill be fine and happy again when I get my baby back.

How are their service department.
I've heard mixed reviews about them.

 

man when i was 16 and i went into honda and they gave me a loaner car overnight and it was all good...man i beat on that accord...lol...cumon i come from a minivan and a hybrid its not everyday i get a 260hp sedan....

 

I bought my car from them, the service manager is a d1ck. I will never take my car there...

According to him, lower spring voids you rentire warranty, engine, drivetrain, etc.

schaumberg mitsu lol yea wanna buy a car from them there nice as they can be, need to get something takin care of it kinda becomes a joke.

I dont really know if there are any mod friendly dealers in illinois at least up north, im not sure how max madsen is, but im sure there probally just like the others

 

And this is precisely why a teenager who is actually responsible is not allowed to rent a car. Good job...

Btw, as someone else mentioned, in many places, you can't rent a car unless you're 25. 21 is nothing...
