Or maybe i should just do this:
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...8028c68809.htm
an rx7 with a 787b's rotary engine (only japanese car to win lemans). This car has no turbo, supercharger, and no nitrous. This thing is badass!

lol Hell yea! 4 rotor if im correct? I believe you can build your own 4 rotor by taking 2 twin rotor motors and combining them through one of their shafts. I dont know exactly how to do it, but ive heard of it being done. Instant 500hp engine no turbo! As far as the 1UZ i never think about it being a performance motor. I know they were used in the Lexus "sports car" at the time, but ive only seen one instance of it being turbocharged and running reliably.

One of the guys at the shop has an FD he's considering selling. If you want one that's already done the right way this will save you a year of work and a ton of money.

built engine (ported, baller seals, etc.)
GT40R w/Tial WG
V mount FMIC/Radiator setup
All braided stainless lines with AN fittings....even the vacuum lines! Some people don't like to worry about vac. leaks.
Tuned conservatively on PowerFC for pump gas on 15 psi it made 420 whp it also has a pump with meth injection tune at 20 psi. I'm not sure what that tune makes since I street tuned it, but as a test he did a roll with the Evo here that traps 130+ and stayed right with it. Of course his whole setup is designed to run 30 psi or more and throw down some big #'s, but he babies this thing so it's never seen more than 20 psi LOL.

It of course has plenty of other nice supporting mods including Mazdaspeed coilovers, 3" exhaust, upgraded clutch etc. From 4000-9000 rpm it pulls smooth and strong. I believe he wants around 25k for it. If interested just give us a call at the shop.

On my last trip to TTp, I saw a 2nd gen rx7 and Scott told me that they were perfoming the Ls1 swap operation so if you want to know all the details of this swap, send Scott a PM. He'll be happy to answers some of your questions unless he's busy today

From what I've read (and someone else suggested), the aluminum LS1 V8 actually creates a near perfect 50/50 weight ratio. i love turbos but i LOVE the feeling of a torquey V8. i'll eventually build a turbo'd V8.

If i were to do a v8 swap i would really miss the turbo. I was thinking though.....would it be possible to get like a 350 hp ls1 and turbo that to get like 450 hp or so?

I had a 3rd gen that made about 350 whp and it was by far the funnest car I have ever owned! I would give anything to have it back! As far as reliability I never had any problems, but I didn't have the car that long either.
