i have a 2003 bby evo and im thinking about selling it. i want a car thats good for college (gas mileage, maintenence) i have some cars in mind...
an 05 honda s2000, Acura RSX, 3 series BMW, Evolution IX, STi...please feel free to leave comments or suggestions!

if u currently have a 2003 bby evo & planning to sell it than why do u have "Evolution IX" in your wish list??

No matter what evo u get, maintenence and gas milage are still gonna be the main issues.

honestly man, i'll trade straight up. my oz gets like 400 miles a tank, custom ipod hook up, new speakers, minor suspension work, nice shifter and knob, excellent condition, basically not riced at all and great for college. and that blue is my favorite evo color. come on lets do it!

 

yeah i know but i mean i really like it and i would be keeping it pretty much stock, im just throwing out ideas

I'm in college and the Evo is a great college car! Don't sell it...

 

i kinda like the s2000 i just dont like how it doesnt have back seats

 

If you can afford a new BMW I believe it would make sense as a college car as their 4 year/50k mile ultimate service program would be a nice perk.

 

I have an 03 lancer for a daily driver. wish i was gettin 400 miles to the tank im averaging 250 with a quarter tank left in the tank, i do have an auto though.

 

I'm sorry, but I feel bad for the college that accepted you. Yo want a good car for college so your thinking of selling your evo and replacing it with a "3 series BMW, Evolution IX, STi" which are all expensive cars to maintain(especially the evo and STI.)

 

i would keep it... im sure its almost paid off by now if u bought it new... and with the money ur gonna lose on trade and the money ur gonna spend on a new car its pointless... now if ur parents are paying for it then i would def upgrade just to have a brand new car... i'd go with either s2k or evo ix.... same amount of hotness... if ur an ugly **** get the s2k itll compensate for the ladies lol if not get the evo or keep urs

 

++1, i'm in college also and i love my evo as a college car. Gets me where i need to go even in the worst road conditions

 

Is this a joke? Your seeking something reliable, easy on maintenance and good gas mileage. And you listed s2k,rsx,bmw,evo9 and sti? What difference do these performance cars hold that your EVO dont, other than being new. Not even one of these will dramatically improve the factor your looking for, whether i'd be gas mileage or maintenance. It *can worsen in some cases with buying a STI or so. And do you honestly think that a compact car like s2k is a legit candidate for your *college suitable car? hell no.

Like someone stated, 1992 Honda Civic Dx hold more characteristics you've asked for. But if you ask me, I'd take the Scion sh!tbox, a.k.a. Scion X/B.

 

yeah it's weird i seem to get great mileage in my 5spd. i baby it though and clean the filter way too often.

as for the thread topic: honestly don't get a nice car for college. or, keep your evo and get a beater for college. there are tons of nice cars on my campus that get vandalized, scratched, kicked by drunk people, and oddly enough hit by mopeds. if i was you, i would get a cheap 5spd civic and park it on the street and pay for some underground parking somewhere for your evo.

 

dont floor it everywhere you go and the mpg will be fine...i have an evo and im in college, i couldnt be happier
