turning the ac on high

when you first crank the evo up and turn the ac on high it beeps and the fan slows down and then beeps again and it returns to normal....what exactly is this for?...i've never had a car that did this before...i'm sure it's normal but i just wondered why it does that

Mine does not beep at all. It does blow hard at very first, then go to normal again though when first turned on after just starting the car.

No beep here either it sounds like you might have something funny going there. I would get it checked out just incase.

I think that it switches to Fresh Air mode for about 5 seconds, even if you have it set to recirculate. This pumps some fresh air into the cabin...

Never had a beep with the ac in 2 evos. Are you putting the ac on before your seatbelt? I am willing to bet its your seatbelt beep.

it's not a very loud beep...it's very quiet but you can hear it...the air is on at first and then it kinda slows down a bit and then there is a quiet beep or noise of some sort and then the air blows full blast again...if your radio is on you're not going to hear the beep(noise)...it sounds like some sort of computer noise or something

also i was wondering what the 3 slots in the dash next to the ignition were...i thought maybe there was a speaker or something for the various beeps and such behind it but the sun hit it just right the other day and i could see all the way to the floor through the slots

I have heard the beep on a few seperate occasions. I don't believe that it is the seat belt beep. Now that I think about it, I think my a/c was on. It is weird though. I am surprised that more people haven't heard it, but if your radio was on you might not hear it.

I have always wondered what those were for as well. As far as the beep when you turn on the AC I have never heard mine do that.

No beeps here but I do notice that the ac doesn't cool down the car as well as the one in my lexus.
