Bridgestone REO50A pole positions. These are the best summer performance tire i have ever used. I thought the mich. ps2 on my 03 8 couldnt get any better but these BStones are incredible in the dry and unreal in the rain. i,m glad i listened to Neal from the tire rack. that man knows his stuff. They are equal or better than the stock yokos in every way from turn in etc. and are ten times more quiet and comfortable. i only have around 1200 miles on them but when they wear out i am definetly going for another set.

Tires

I got 19k miles off my Advans and they were bald, went with Falken Azenis, great tires.

i had 15k on the stock tires. I went with rt-615's in 255. Great replacement for stock.

i wonder if i could use the 12000 miles/1 year alignment free of charge after i drop my car on springs

i have 12,000 miles now and i still have around 70% of treads left, and i dont baby the tires...it's important to rotate the tires every 5000 to reduce uneven tread wear. but alignment is most likely the OP's main problem like everybody already said.

For some reason i thought you didnt have to rotate the tires on the Evos because the power distribution is 50/50. Thats what i was told. If im wrong please let me know.

the rotation is necessary...i dont think 50/50 power distribution would prevent uneven tire wear.

great respnses, thanks.

I am guessing alignment too. The reason I didn't take it for an alignment is that it handled just the way I like: almost completely neutral, and then a hair of understeer under power when at the hairy edge of traction.

It is only the right front that has a big bald strip. the left front is low on tread on the inside but not bald. the two tires that lived in the back are actually in pretty good shape (about half worn, even wear). I have those on the front now. I have 36 psi in the rear ones and 32 in the fronts, and for now I am still pretty pleased with the handling. When I buy 4 new tires (in about 2000-3000 miles I am guessing) I'll go in for a good alignment. maybe a wee bit more neg camber in the front, but EVENLY this time!!!

I'm thinking the RT 615's in 255 will be my choice. I was a little concerned about them being sloppy when on our narrow rims, but it sounds like everyone is having good luck with them.

255's might be a bit big with the stock rims. You better look into that a bit more.

I went with the KDW's. They grip pretty well and are good in wet & dry. They last a lot longer with their 300 treadwear rating. It's a great all around tire. My only gripe is that they are louder than the stock ones.
