launch not looking good!!

Since i got my new clutch my tires be spinning when i launch and it didn't happen before( probably cause my clutch was slipping ) i get to red line in 1st without moving that much i checked my tires and they're at 27psi so i should be ok with their pressure, what do you guys think? i bought the car with those tires --- sumitomo HTR + i believe they're high performance all-season tires
?
thanx

You want your tires to spin at least a little bit. If they didnt, the drivetrain would have to absorb all of that shock.

if your dumping the clutch your gonna spin the tires, learn how to launch with a quick slip and you should be fine.

those tires are not really performance tires.
I had them on my 03, and they performed pretty poor on rain, snow and dry.

I would never buy those tires again.
I just ordered a set of michellin winter x tires and seems to have a very good reviews.

Speed rating sucks but I wouldnt be driving fast on snowy/wet conditions anyways.

This all depends on many factors:

1) No such thing as performance all-seasons, but that isn't necessarily why you are spinning. All-seasons suck for handling, but they don't necessarily suck for drag launching. There are plenty of people on here who have hit nasty 60's with all-season tires. I personally hit 1.72 on my Blizzaks (snow tires), which isn't great, but it's respectable.

2) What RPM are you currently launching at?

3) What clutch did you install?

4) How are you launching it? Are you dumping the clutch or quick-slipping?

5) You can't just pick a tire psi and leave it there. 27psi means nothing to us and nothing to you. What you have to do is keep adjusting the tire pressure until it's where you want it. Randomly picking 27psi does nothing for you. Also, be sure to pump them back up to at least 35 when you are daily driving.

also, you will find that your tires spin, you hit redline... but when they catch your rpm's will drop again and you will take off then shift to 2nd

Oh, and don't forget that the other reason for the tach redlining and the car not moving is if you are completely burning the clutch. Be sure you are actually spinning all 4 tires all through 1st, because you could just be mixing it up with a clutch burn. It takes some good power to burn all 4 all the way through 1st.
