water going into the intake and up into the turbo is never good. Last time I checked the components in the turbo can rust. If you are smart you will put a towel under the vent in the hood when u wash it.

I agree. A tower should be enough to block water from your intake.

also it doesnt matter if i've removed that sheild on not as far as rusting things under the hood because either way water can just pour in

Okay, but with tuning makes ANY INTAKE A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY unless you are running a high HP setup!

More or less what I want to know is how much water does it take to hydro-lock a motor?
I've seen people lose power. I've been at the dyno where the tuner tells them to pu the stock box back on!

Intakes sound cooler, but don't help at the bolt-on level. Just look at how many are for sale in the forums!
