water going into the intake and up into the turbo is never good. Last time I checked the components in the turbo can rust. If you are smart you will put a towel under the vent in the hood when u wash it.

You would really need to pretty much submerse your intake to cause any damage. But like someone else said, DITCH THE INTAKE! It's pointless for our car the way it sits. I had a K&N Typhoon intake installed and it was making me lose a TON of power seriously. When I put my stock box back on and added a K&N drop in filter I gained my power back!

Intakes sound cooler, but don't help at the bolt-on level. Just look at how many are for sale in the forums!
