There is no evo coming to Canada. People have brought them over. But you wont have a warranty in Canada and will have to come back to the US for all of your warranty/service needs. I hope you live close to the border if you are even remotely considering this.

I've heard the X might make it to Canada, but they said the same thing about the IX. There are a few people in Canada that have evo 8s legally, but they are definitely an exception.

Yep. Mitsu hasn't brought any evos for the past three years, I don't see why they would start now at the end of the production of the IX.

On a side note cars are REALLY overpriced in canada compared to here. A civic EX 4 door costs like 27K canadian bahahah.....thats insanity

Actually the canadian dollar is pretty close to american dollars these days. When I went there a month ago $100 USD was 115 canadian.

USD has devalued a bunch as of recent

^^ they have some rule about front impacts not costing over a certain amount of money. If the front impact kills the FMIC it puts the cost of the accident over that dollar amount and so they can't have it. STis have a top mount so front impacts are cheaper. It's all about their communist government being in bed with the insurance companies...

It's called protectionism. In the original auto pact both the US and Canada agreed on the 5mph bumper. The US has rescinded it and gone to a 3mph bumper which was judged as more cost effective when fuel economy is taken into account. The Canadians stayed with the old standard which may be attributable to the fact that Magna-Steyr, a big Candian based parts manufacturer makes good money from manufacturing 5mph bumpers for the Canadian vehicles. Magna regularly contributes large amount of money to the governing parties of Canada and the daughter of the owner of Magna, Belinda Stronach has run for both major political parties in Canada.
