evo clutch

what's up with all of these horror stories about the evo clutch going out?...is this because of performance upgrades or just bad driving...i mean i've had cars that lasted 300,000 miles and never had to replace the clutch.....i've never had to replace the clutch in any car....or the transmission...or synchros ...or whatever....so what's the deal?

About 8.5k miles on my car and been making good power since 1500 miles and still going strong. I even learned how to drive stick on this car lol. It really depends on how you treat it.

A guy that I autoX with has a fairly heavily modded 05 Evo MR with 44,000mi on the stock clutch so far and still going strong. He probably has at least 20 autoX events + I don't know how many track days on it.

As long as you don't do drag launches on the stock clutch, it should last a long time.

I hope mine holds up some more. One of the techs said that my clutch is starting to go and it only has 16K on it!
