bad idea, you shoot someone for trying to steal your stuff and in most states you will go to jail. You're not permitted to use deadly force except to protect your life.

this is true. i know a guy that went to jail for shooting a guy trying to get into his truck. i recommend a bat and some Barry Bonds swinging for the car thieves. i personally have a 9 iron with someones name on it.

Unfortunately using any weapon is still battery.

Forutnately, AZ gun laws just got a lot closer to Texas gun laws

This is why I am SOOO happy to have my cars and my bike in a garage. It really does help, because I have been a break in/theft victim before, it sucks!

you can only the amount force that is exerted towards you. You can beat/kill someone over property. Now if you were to beat them up with a bat and they werent seriously injured, it would be easy to say you caught them and they attacked you. But if you use deadly physical force over property, your going to jail.

Also, the police wont use DNA comparisons of small property claims such as this, and that would only work if the persons DNA was on file for a serious crime, which most like its not. most people breaking into cars to steal radios and crap like that, are bad kids/young adults

in most states nowadays, you cant even shoot someone in your house for just any reason. If the guy is climbing out of your window and you shoot him in the back, your goin to jail. Now if the guy has a crowbar in his hand and is in between you and your 2 years old bedroom, you'll get away with it. The law leans in the favor of people trying to protect their family, but will def strike down on someone seeing an opportunity to committ that long sought after murder and thinking they can use this as an excuse to get away with it. if some 19 year old kid wants your DVD player, it isnt worth killing him over, but if some 19 year old wnts to rape your 13 year old daughter, well then blow his head off

A little update....just got back form the adjuster. Not including the glass replacement, the moron did almost $700 worth of damage. I would have given the bastard my $15 flashlight just to avoid the headache.
