Well boys and girls it was bound to happen!!
Well, i brought my car to mitsu for the 30k service (free service) well a week later my tcase started to whine really bad..so i decided to check the fluids, when i drained the tcase fluid i noticed it looked and smelt like gear oil?!?!?! so i put diaqueen in it and it still whined. I brought it back to mitsu and they confirmed it was either my tcase or rear diff and that they are 100% sure they didnt put the wrong fluid in it. To make sure its my tcase they would charge me "2-3 hours of labor" just to confirm. So i said i dont have a problem with paying that aslong you can do it under warranty.... they said they most likely can not do it under warranty. So i think im going to go with shep which i called and he said it was going to be around 2200 to 2500. Can anybody think of any cheaper options? If not looks like im going the shep route.
Thanks
Thanks
Still at Mitsu even on my 03 Evo they said 60K covers all the TC and diff....
I think you got hosed somehow... unless you changed the fluid yourself (obviously you did now, but seeing as you got it done at the dealer, you have a receipt for that).
Just by making a call when I was suspecting my TC they told me that a tech could figure it out in a car ride whether it is your TC or not, and no charge for it (as long as you brought it by during a weekday when it wasn't busy).

You can always call Mitsubishi of North America and ***** at them there. Tell them that your local dealership "whatever" is giving you trouble over this. I mean, you are modded so we lose something there.
I mean, around here. I've seen people get their trannys rebuilt with more stuff than you have, under warranty. It's all possible, just got to talk to the right people.

I guess he charges more for ACD transfer cases. Cause on his site it says that a stage 1 rebuild is 350+ 50 shipping. add 200 for rem and cryo. Even stage 2 adding a new Helical LSD is only 1200
I feel for you man.
But why would you take your car in for warranty service with the mods in place?
I wouldnt even consider taking my car in for warranty unless my car was almost back to stock looking at least.
Dont you think more power equals more stress to the drive train?
If you are stock, I dont think you'd have a major problem with warranty service.
Otherwise, it might be a better idea to have the car at least looking like it's stock.
Put the stock downpipe, cat and remove that MBC before you bring it in.
Anyways, good luck on your repair.
