quietest is hands down the Road Race Engineer custom "stealth" exhaust. it uses a very straight catback with magnaflow muffler, with a rally cat and any dp u want. i've sat in a IX with this set up with a 2.75'' Espelir dp, and it freaking sounds like my car when it was stock.

the catback has a 12'' and 24'' resonator that's wrapped around the pipe to keep the whole pipe full 3''. u can drop a coke can through it

I used to have B&B catback and it was pretty quiet with decent power gains, but that was on my Evo 8. I wonder if B&B makes one for the IX!

The only thing titanium about the HKS Carbon-Ti exhuast is the cannister, and maybe even then its only the tip.

Even a GReddy Ti can be tolerable with a resonator. Using a resonated test pipe is the a good way to go.

18x1.5... you can find a "drain plug" at auto zone this size, that's what I used.

I may end up going with the Greddy Evo2. Looks good and at a good price.

thanks!

BTW, where do you insert the second sensor for wideband? since the stock o2 sensor takes up the cat bung I'm guessing we need to weld the second bung in?

I don't have a wideband. I would put it either in the bung in the midpipe or put my 02 sensor in the midpipe and the wideband in the cat.

Do you have to contact RRE about that stealth catback? I can't find it on their site...

I've also been looking for a queit CBE. You definitely want a CBE that has at least one resonator on the pipe. I've heard that the Greddy SP2 is quiet but necks down in a few spots. The Tanabe Medallion Touring is supposed to be quiet but haven't determined if it necks down anywhere.

Hadn't heard about the RRE stealth exhaust. I'm going to have to give them a call.

With all that said, I'm really beginning to wonder if there are any signficant gains to be had with a CBE. I'm thinking that the DP and cat are more important.
